Located downtown, the apartment is close to the waterfront, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, theatres, shops, library, parks, art gallery, churches, and public transport. The apartment is suited for couples, solo adventurers, theatre employees, small families, and business travelers. It is in a fully-renovated historic apartment building. Be prepared for getting your daily exercise climbing three levels. Once settled, catch your breath by enjoying the view of downtown.

The space
The apartment has been completely renovated. The apartment is petite, but bright and well laid out. There is a comfortable bed in the private bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. You will find it outfitted with an array of small kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes, comfortable furniture, clean linens, towels (including beach towels), soap, laundry soap, dish detergent, basic cleaning supplies, toilet paper, tissues, paper towel, iron, ironing board, hangers, books, and board games. The apartment is on the top floor with great views from the front window and the rear deck. The adjacent apartment on this floor is also an AirBnB (sleeps 2 people), so if you are travelling with friends who would like to book accommodation close to you, renting the other unit could be a possibility.

Guest access
Access the entire apartment and the back deck for sitting outdoors.

Other things to note
The apartment is located on the top floor of the building (three flights up). This is a heritage building, so there is no elevator. Be prepared to get your exercise climbing the stairs -- although the view from up high is certainly worth the effort!

Also, because this is a heritage building (very old construction), noise travels quite easily between floors and walls. Therefore, this is a strict no party Airbnb unit. There are seniors and young professionals living full-time in the building (in fact, my parents live on the second floor), so we will be strict about late night noise after 10 PM.

And finally, there is a TV in the unit, but there is no Cable TV. There is a Roku player that accesses internet channels like Netflix (need to input your account info), Youtube, TedTalks, etc.

Location

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

The apartment is surrounded by old historic churches and is only a block from Province House, The Confederation Centre, Victoria Row, Peakes Quay (on the waterfront), The Confederation Court Mall, the Library, and historic Great George Street. Enjoy strolling to local coffee shops, Victoria Park, the Yacht Club, local eateries, pubs, and nightlife activities. If you have access to a car, getting to a beach is a must. There are many great beaches and attractions to visit, some hightlights are: Cavendish, Brackley Beach, Basin Head Beach, North Rustico Beach, Greenwich Beach, Victoria by the Sea, The Dunes Gallery (located in Brackley Beach), artisan shops and studio (too many to mention in this short listing - but make sure to read the folder that I have created for your AirBnB unit), New Glasgow (close to Cavendish and North Rustico), Point Prim lighthouse, West Cape lighthouse, the town of Souris (close to Basin Head Beach), Georgetown, Roma Village, The Bottle Houses, Trailside Café in Mount Stewart (for food and music), Barnone Brewery (craft brew place in the heart of rural PEI), UpStreet Brewery (Charlottetown) -- and I could go on, but I'll stop here. For fun physical activities (apart from diving through refreshing ocean waves and strolling along white sandy beaches) try -- kayak tours, paddleboard rentals (available at the Charlottetown Yacht Club), bike rentals along the Rails to Trails, clam digging tours, and deep sea fishing tours. Charlottetown and surrounding areas are great for cycling -- check with local bike shops for rental opportunities.

Hello! And welcome to "Anne's Land." As a person who has travelled and lived many places, I appreciate clean, comfortable, and affordable accommodations, and therefore, want to make sure you have a comfortable stay while visiting PEI. This idyllic farming/fishing/touristy island has become home to me and my family (yes, I am a proud "Come From Away - CFA"). Island life is a slower pace of life -- and that is just perfect -- very few traffic jams, lots of fresh air, quiet landscape, and plentiful outdoor activities. And even though I have been living here for many years, there are still many places I have yet to explore. Over the past decade, we have invested in a few older homes and an apartment building in downtown Charlottetown. I love to find homes with "good bones" and then fully renovate them while maintaining the character of "the bygone days." A feature that I have appreciated in past travels is my host's personal advice on restaurants, local coffee shops, and attractions -- so I am enthusiastic to recommend local sites and restaurants to visiting guests. I have created two AirBnB units -- both are located in a building right in the center of town -- they are next to each other on the top floor of a 6-unit building. If you have friends travelling with you, you might consider each booking a unit. Enjoy your visit, and if you have any questions, just send me an email or text.
