This XIXth century house lies in the heart of two acres of garden, surrounded by old lindens, chestnuts, oaks and pines. The park is embellished with an orchard, a vegetable garden, a large watering hole ...

The house, over the years, has preserved its genuineness and kept his soul : fireplaces, exposed beams and stones for the context, alembic wine, presses and feeders as a testimony of the wine farming history of the territory.

The space

Large manor house with 10 rooms, 7 fireplaces, 4 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 library, 1 covered terrace and a 2-hectare park.
This charentaise house has, over time, preserved its authenticity: exposed stones or beams for the frame; alembic, presses and feeders as evidence of the wine farming history of the territory.

The estate is located 30 km from Royan and 1 hour from Bordeaux, along the Gironde estuary.
It enjoys the micro-climate of the Charente-Maritime, one of the departments of the Poitou-Charentes-second sunniest region of France.

Soothing countryside, Estuary nearby, Saintonge vineyards and lights ... Many calls to serenity., just 25 km away from the islands and the sandy beaches.

Amazing place to stay, perfect for families as the place is fully equipped for kids of all ages! Beautiful grounds make the perfect setting for this traditional old French country home. Lea and Pierre were great hosts, we would love to return someday soon!

We had a fantastic stay at Bel Air - wonderful space, amazing pool and all fantastically set up for kids. It was a perfect base for local exploration - although we are t most of our time just enjoying the super relaxing atmosphere of the house and grounds. Lea and Pierre were extremely helpful and gave some great recommendations of places to eat and visit. Many many thanks and hope to make a return visit one day!

We were very late turning up at the Domain, but Pierre and Lea were there ready to let us know what we needed to get settled in. The next day, when we were all ready to learn more about the place, they were very happy to tell us what we needed to know and offered advice on all areas - all done in a most pleasant manner. They are lovely hosts. On top of such a good welcome, the Domain, with it's lovely accommodation , fabulous grounds and extensive resources (there are several cycles available for guests to use, a fine selection of CDs and books), is a memorable stay. Thank you so much, Pierre and Lea, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Bel Air is the most beautiful home and there is not a think that Lea and Pierre have not thought of to provide you with. We were two families with little children and it was so relaxing staying there as there was so much for them to do and so much equipment already there especially if you didn't want to take highchair, abby bath etc... The pool is excellent and has a small 'paddling pool' area at one end and then shallow and deep ends and was a great temperature in August. The house is full of character and Lea and Pierre made is extra special by have some supplies waiting for us when we arrived late and making sure we knew all the best places to sit on the beach and eat. Even though Lea and Pierre are still on the grounds you would never know there was anyone else there. This was a truly great find for us and we wish we had more time to explore the area. Great fro families, couples and big groups.

We were welcomed as members of family. Explanations were very clear and the owners were always ready to help and to do more to make us happy. How wonderful! We did not expect the food, drinks that were waiting for us. A great experience and exchange with very beautiful persons. We absolutely enjoyed very much our stay at Bel Air.

Pierre & Lea were the best hosts, so welcoming and helpful. When we arrived after our six hour long trip from Paris with numerous comedic errors driving in a foreign country we knew it was all worth it. When you pull up to Bel Air it is everything and more than you imagined. The house is bigger than the photos let on, we stayed with another couple and their baby and weren't even able to make use of all the rooms. The house is clean and has that lovely seaside smell to it, it may have been the citronella candles but the smell reminded me of St. Barths. Our hosts thought of everything, they had toys for the children, supplies for the beach, changing table, a stroller, BBQ, amazing taste in movies and music. Our fridge was even lightly stocked with some basics even though we brought most of our own. We cooked amazing meals in the large kitchen and ate every one of them outside on the patio that even had mosquito netting for the evening! So lovely so amazing just absolutely magical! We would recommend this home to anyone.
