The communication was clear and effective. The check-in and check-out were very flexible. Although I didn't meet Rene, I met Andreas who made us feel very welcomed. The apartment is very clean, the room spacious and best of all, very close to the underground. We recommend this listing to anyone looking for very nice base to explore Berlin!

My stay here was perfect for the months duration I was in berlin for. Everyone was so welcoming and wonderful. very accessible (tram and metro lines within 2 mins), great places around (bars, restaurants), quiet surroundings (never had a problem with any noise at any point). Highly recommended for any type of stay in berlin.

It is not far from the City Centre and it's close to the U-Bahn (U2 - Vinetastrasse) which is really helpful! The bedroom has plenty of space and the bed is not that bad either. It is however close to the entrance of the apartment which means especially at night you can hear everyone entering the apartment and early in the morning you can hear young children running on the stairs to the levels above you. But this wasn't a really big problem for me personally. The housekeeper Andreas is really nice and is able to give you some good advice of what to do and where to go.

Response from Rene:
Thanks Jean-Michel, I'm glad you had a good time in Berlin. I'm sorry about the noise at night when Andreas or Nora got back home. I agree, the front door is pretty close to the guest bedroom. Unfortunately we can't really change the geography of the apartment, I guess it would be up to the guests and Andreas or my daughter alike, to communicate about arrangements to be respectful with noise levels especially at night time. To hear children of other neighbors in the morning is of course a different problem that we can't control immediately. But we had a more noise-resistant front door installed last year.

Our stay at Rene's flat was great. Andreas and Nora were really nice and made us feel most welcome for the whole duration of our stay (ca. 50 days). The flat was very clean and had everything we needed. The room is simple and nice, the mattress is very comfortable and there is a little wardrobe and some drawers available for the guests. I would definitely recommend it both for short and long stays.

Response from Rene:
Thanks for the lovely review. And sorry if you got the impression that other people stay there a lot. That was a one-time exception - Christina is working at the Berlinale Filmfestival ONCE per year, and then she asks me if she can stay at our place.... If it so happens that an Airbnb guest is there at the same time, that might seem like we are "overbooked", I agree, but I promise this is unusual and not happening as regular as it may seem. The same goes for my mom, she shows up once a month for a night unannounced..... But none of this seems worth announcing on Airbnb, I'm afraid this might "confuse" people and sound a little bit like too much information, you know what I mean? But thanks for pointing it out. I hope this explains it though.... Come back any time if you'd like :-)

We haven't had the chance to meet Renee in person, but she was very sweet and helpful to guide us by e-mail. Andreas was in the house and gave nice tips to help us in Berlin. The house is very good, spacious, clean, light, with an amazing kitchen. Vey close to the U-bahn and the neighbourhood very calm and have all the essentials nearby. Overall a really nice stay and felt like home. We recommend to everybody going to Berlin.

Thank You very much, Camila. I am a guy though, "Rene" :-) Also, I can't find a way to edit my initial review for you, so I would like to add publicly, that there was a misunderstanding about you bringing strangers to our apartment. I'm sorry that there was some confusion about it.

We have been traveling a lot between the US and Germany in recent years, but want to expand to new destinations.
We also own a cool place in the heart of Berlin, Germany which we have listed for rentals through AirBnB.
Since our kids got older and left home, we also started Airbnb'ing rooms in our modern house in Culver City, CA.
