The space
A Magical Retreat
Couples describe our property as 'magical'. Our expansive waterfront and forested, rolling hills are on a 2-acre property with 400+ feet of private, clear and clean water frontage, all day south and southwest sun and sunsets, a wood-fired stove, wood-fired outdoor sauna, upper and lower outdoor fire pits, bedding and towels are available please inquire. Our retreat is a cabin nestled in a forest, on an aquifer-fed lake with crystal clear lake and pristine shores. Deer, beaver, loons, birds, owls, and blue herons visit our property.

Sleeping options:
The cabin's single bedroom offers a double bed.
There is a linen service available for 30.00 per bed, this gives you the beds made up with freshly laundered bedding, 1 towel per person, hand towels and tea towels

In spring, summer and fall.... We have waterfront docks, a floating raft and a fire-pit at the shoreline. There is a huge floating lily pad for kids, a canoe and 6 kayaks for those who want to explore the lake. We have an aluminum fishing boat - no motor but you can bring your own small motor. This lake is stocked with trout for those who want to take a rod with them.

Inside the Main Log Cabin:

We use this cabin for our own getaways. Rest assured we want it to be comfortable and well equipped for everyone. We are not absentee owners and this is why guests come back year over year and season to season.

Contemporary style decor in a 16'x24' cedar log building with loft ceilings, exposed beams and log walls throughout. Open-concept cooking and living area, wood stove. Cellular service is very good on the property. The Bell FIBE wifi will keep you working, or streaming and supports the SMART TV.

The kitchen is equipped for people who like to cook. Good knives and pots, gas bbq - and lots of accessories for preparing and cooking great meals.

When there is lots of snow, kids and adults have tobogganed and snow-boarded on the slopes of our property!

The cabin is on Wenona Lake, near Loon Lake - a 15 min drive to the Village of Haliburton with all amenities including groceries and liquor/beer stores, restaurants, boutiques. Many artist studios are in the area. Mountain biking at Sir Sam's resort, Haliburton Forest for treetop and ground hikes in the region. Download the All Trails app for trail hikes in the area.

Note: We do not generally encourage pets but will handle these requests on a case-by-case basis. Primarily we are concerned about pet fur on furniture and dog 'toiletry' matters.

Guest access
The entire property is private and accessible to you - 400 feet of shoreline and 2 acres of property with private driveway and parking off of a municipal serviced road.

In the winter:
Please do not drive down the driveway during the winter months, you will not get back up.
There is an area right off the road that will be cleaned out so you can park and walk down to the cabin, you will find a couple of black toboggans to bring your gear to the cabin. Please return them to the cabin when done, if you leave them by the road they will be taken.

Other things to note
Check in any time after 4 pm unless other arrangements have been made. Check out any time before 11 am unless other arrangements have been made.
These times are very firm otherwise.
The main cabin is ideal for 2 people.
It is a cozy small footprint main cabin - it is not a monster cottage, and that's part of the magic!
All long weekends are a minimum of 3 days.
