Onsite golf courses and driving range, 2 tennis courts, grass football field, outdoors activity centre and short walk to Belton House, Nat Tst stately home with gardens, lakes, river, woods, adventure playground + deer. The space
The lodge is detached in its own quite separate space in a group of 3 lodges (all effectively exactly the same), each separated from others by trees and shrubs. It feels private and spacious, good for a family holiday. Outside is private already paid for parking for 2 cars. Vehicle access is controlled by code controlled gates near the hotel. The hotel and its swimming pool, spa and leisure club facilities and golf reception and shop are a short walk away along a path through light woodland from outside the front door. The hotel has a carvery restaurant and bar. There is also a 19th hole golf clubhouse bar which serves bar snacks.
The lodge is laid out on 2 floors. Bedrooms and entrance hall are on the ground floor. Upstairs is a large, light and airy combined kitchen, dining and living room with a wide balcony across the entire golf course side and views over the surrounding countryside. The balcony gets good sun and is large enough for al fresco dining with new decking and 2 sun loungers. Within the upstarirs space is a separate dining table and chairs and a seating area with large screen smart TV and SkyHD. There is Wi-Fi connection. The kitchen is well-equipped with American style fridge freezer, 2 electric ovens and ceramic hob stove top, capsule coffee machine, a combined washer/dryer machine and a dishwasher. The lodge has a burglar alarm which can be used, if wished, but we have never felt the need.
The 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, 1 double and 2 twin, can comfortably accommodate 6 guests. In the master bedroom is a sleigh double bed and en suite bathroom with big bath, walk-in shower and toilet. In the 2 twin bedrooms, the beds can be zipped together to make double beds. 1 of the twin bedrooms has an en suite shower-room with toilet. Upstairs in the living room, another 2 guests can sleep on a pull-down bed with 2 mattresses.
The hot water system is a combination of electric immersion heater of water in a cylinder and 2 showers (upstairs and in the en-suite twin room downstairs) which heat the water using electric heaters as the water flows. These are simple to use but if in any doubt ask lodge reception or look in the lodge guide file. The cylinder can hold enough water for 1 bath and shower at a time (but no more).
There is more than enough to do and relax onsite or across the road at Belton House to make driving and use of petrol unnecessary. Once you have arrived, just relax and use the facilities.
Guest access
You will have exclusive use of the entire lodge and back garden and 2 adjacent parking spaces.
Other things to note
The resort and lodge works generally on Sunday check-in after 4pm and check-out before 10am with thorough cleaning between those times on Sundays. Sometimes people check-in after Sunday and check-out before Sunday. The lodge is available for the whole of August and can be hired for complete weeks. Periods of less than 7 days are possible. stays of more than 1 week are possible.
Electricity use has always been metered and charged separately for each stay by the resort manager and you only pay for what you use. In August heating should not be required so the cost should be manageable per week and the overall pricing of the lodge has been held down to reflect the big increase in the price payable for electricity. Electricity had historically been in the range £30- 40 per week (without lodge sauna usage) before the big increases but may now cost £80-£100 depending on how much is used. Please note the lodge sauna has been disabled to prevent unexpected electricity charges. It can be turned back on by lodge management on contacting lodge reception. There is a separate communal sauna and steam room in the hotel spa which is free to use for lodge guests.
The lodge contains a detailed file explaining how everything works. If this is not sufficient lodge reception and maintenance onsite or by telephone are available to assist. The file should be in the kitchen/dining area.
