Clean, cosy & charming rooms in the heart of East Village: a combination of vintage /antique accents ( lace, art, lamps, mirrors) and modern furnishings: a perfect haven for women travelers! You’ll also love my place because of the ambiance of the quiet, friendly, family-oriented neighborhood and its proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, craft beers, bakeries, gifts & a major pharmacy--a 2 minute stroll to the nearest main street & buses downtown. Private driveway too.

Travelling solo for work? Or accompanied on an adventure? Wanting privacy, but also some direction/ company? The house is a quiet, safe place for women travellers. LGBTQ Friendly.
I have a cosy, charming suite at garden level in my home. Home is minutes away from one of the city’s top-rated family grocery stores (with conventional & organic foods), neighborhood ethnic restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, bars (craft beers), gifts, a major pharmacy etc. It is a 2 minute stroll to the nearest main street & buses headed downtown (theatres, Vancouver Art Gallery, Malls etc: all 15 - 20 minutes away).
A running track & swimming pool are just around the corner.
Vibrant (& trendy) Commercial drive is a 10 minute walk away--more restaurants, coffee bars, gelaterias, art galleries, clothing stores, gifts, a bookstore, & a music store.
Please be aware that this home is not located downtown or near Vancouver's beaches.
The garden level rooms include a fully furnished bedroom, living room, washroom (with a shower) and kitchen--there is no stove in the kitchen but there is a convection oven, a microwave, an electric fry pan, a toaster & a small fridge, electric kettle, coffee makers & cooking/ eating utensils.
There is a stash of herbal teas, black tea and coffee beans, seasonal treats .
There is also a small antique table & chairs just outside the suite to sit & enjoy that morning coffee (summer-time, of course).
The rooms are private. However, there is a private back room (storage/ garden-tool / freezer) that I (infrequently) need to access--with notice of course.
The rooms (except bathroom) have windows and natural day-light.
There is WiFi connection and a small writing desk in the living room.
Guests can park in the private driveway just steps from the suite door.
Guest access
- You have access via back entrance, your own bathroom, living room, bedroom & eating/ cooking area.
--The antique metal table and chairs on the small patio in the back garden are for your use.
You do not have access to a back room!
Other things to note
The ceilings are lower (6'6") so taller guests may have a problem with door frames and a low shower head.
Not wheelchair accessible as the suite has a couple of different levels-- there are several 1.5 inch "steps" to negotiate within the suite as well as 2 steps outside the suite.

Neighbourhood highlights
My place is within walking distance of all kinds of amenities: restaurants (Italian, Japanese, Vietnamese, S. Asian, Palestinian, Chinese etc), several bakeries , top rated grocery store (with conventional and organic foods), bars with craft beers, gift stores, major pharmacies, specialty stores ( meat, balsamic vinegars etc). I am around the corner from a Community swimming pool and running track. My place is in a quiet East-side family-oriented neighborhood; it is not located West-side near beaches nor downtown (that would be in a high-rise).
