The Jetty House is full of character and retains many original features. It's location is very scenic and quiet. Set close to the beach and away from the town, this spot is an unspoilt example of Tasmania's natural beauty and history. Rosalind is a friendly and generous host. Her breakfasts will keep you going for a full day. She also surprised us with home baked goodies, so good I'll be asking for the recipe! A great place to base yourself when exploring the south.

I really loved this stay. The house is gorgeous and the home cooked brekkie each morning (including fresh squeezed juice) was a lovely aspect. Being such an old home, there are obviously little quirks like creaky floorboards and the odd dodgy light fitting, however this is more than compensated for by the beautiful atmosphere, amazing furniture and curios dotted throughout every room. The bed linen was beautifully clean and even though the weather was cold during our stay and some of the larger rooms and hallways were a bit chilly, the bathrooms and sleeping spaces were toasty and warm. A truly unique, very Tassie-heritage experience and I hope to come back!

Rosalind made us feel very welcome! We were greeted with a friendly smile and yummy chocolate brownies :) Rosalind showed us the tour of her lovely home and ensured we understood that there is only one place to eat and have a drink in Southport, and that was the cosy, little, Tavern up the road, no more than 800 metres. Our daughter had a ball, running around the beautiful property, and walking to the beach, directly across the road from the estate. We enjoyed a beautiful banquet in the morning, with other guests. Rosalind made a home-cooked breakfast with local produce. What a beautiful, peaceful, town. The perfect town to unwind, technology free, as Southport only has Optus, satellite- minimal coverage, but we loved that! We'll be back!
