After a couple of hostel stays this apartment felt so luxurious haha! It is part of a hotel apartment complex and as such is run by hotel staff, who were lovely and did their best with our awful spanish and hand gestures. It is up a big hill; so take a cheap taxi or stretch the legs after all those cheesy empanadas! Also near the yellow cable car line, well worth a ride out to the end of the green line, shows how vast the city really is. Be prepared for minimum facilities; e.g no coffee or tea, salt n pepper etc. A supermarket is in the nearby plaza. We found Pierres wifi not really working but hooked up to "caserita" with same password and that worked fine. Shower drain a bit blocked so didn't drain well at all, but water nice and hot. Bed very comfortable! We found a few dvds downstairs so had a couple of movie nights in bed. Awesome. Pierre was extremely responsive via Airbnb app, even organised a taxi for us leaving at 4am. The taxi never showed....that is South American timing for you. Appreciated the effort nonetheless. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The listing description made it seem like the apartment is Pierre's personal apartment - this is not anyone's apartment - it is an apartment hotel. The apartment is located up the hill in the Sopocachi neighborhood. This neighborhood is really great if you like restaurants, parks, and a great local vibe. During my partner and mine's stay Pierre was in France. We arrived were brought to our room and were told the power was out and would work in an hour. It ended up being out until 9:30 pm. We had to go out to eat and the hill is very long for someone adjusting to altitude so we also had to take cab. The next morning we tried to cook eggs and had to get a spatula and proper pan from downstairs. We also found dirty dishes on the kitchen shelf. That took over an hour since we could not find an employee at 9:00 am. The beginning of our stay was an unpleasant way to experience the apartment and we were given a 50% refund. Thanks Airbnb and Pierre. Notes on the apartment: The key to the balcony does not work, so if you like full protection be aware. The staff provides only one towel set even if you book the stay for two or more people be sure to ask for towels. The staff are located three stories downstairs and only speak Spanish. The staff are not connected to Airbnb and ask for you passport information and to sign an agreement form - we kindly declined to do this since we booked through Airbnb without knowledge that it is a hotel. The wifi and tv work perfectly. Pierre replies quickly through app messaging. The view from the balcony is beautiful, but can also be seen from the cable cars or nearby the hill. All in all this location has the potential to receive great reviews, just needs some work. I hope whomever stays here in the future has a better experience!

After we have booked the apartment and received the address via Airbnb, it appears that the apartment is not properly registered on the map. It is located more than one kilometer further from the center than was indicated. So from the city or from the supermarket it's a long way up. A big plus is that we can check in very early in the morning. The apartment is very spacious and well and fully furnished and is part of ApartHotel Caserita. The staff is very friendly and wants to help you everywhere. The complex is in a quiet area with some shops and restaurants. We stayed here for one week and we can really recommend this apartment.

Great apartment and lovely staff. We spoke minimal English but we're able to check-in early. The location is perfect as it is very close to the cable car system which allows you to travel all over la Paz whilst enjoying an amazing view.

Big apartment a bit on the chilly side in the high part of Sopochachi (steep hills). Would be really great to have cleaning products or basics like salt and sugar.

We loved or stay in this functional, light-filled and tasteful apartment (#232). Though Sopocachi, like all of La Paz, is steep we were close to where we wanted to be, including the brilliant teleférico system. The kitchen was very functional and had everything we needed for our stay, though you should anticipate the need to purchase basic comestibles like oil, salt etc. I enjoyed my communication with Pierre, which was always prompt and clear. Later, in the apartment complex the administrator Eva was always friendly and helpful. We communicated in Spanish but she retains good English and is keen to use it.
