The space

Being surrounded by the town of Annapolis Royal is really one of the many bonuses to this property. Let us be perfectly clear..we are unique. The house itself is very comfortable, the yard is large and private, however on Saturdays you are literally in the thick of the famous Annapolis Royal Farmers Market, and everything you make of that. No need to cook that day with vendors less than one hundred yards of your house. Once you arrive, park your car in the private parking, or put your motorcycle in the fenced in yard and walk for the rest of your visit here. Full kitchen, full bath, comfortable, airy and safe. This is probably the place for you.

Guest access

Travellers will have full access to their own private yard and small house.

Interaction with guests

Hi, I own a gallery on St., George St., our main street, (Far-Fetched Antiques and Art) and have for 17years. I know the area well. I am in the gallery, 10-6p , Monday thru Sat. and Sun. 12-5p. At any time I am also available for tips, hints, references and direction. As a gallery owner, I am rather social and have the occasional gathering and or opening which I love to invite guests to.

The neighbourhood

I love the central location of this house. Every essential convenience of the town, is within walking distance. And some not so essential.

Getting around

We have public transit.

Located right in the middle of Annapolis Royal, FRS was lovely. Full of a beautiful mix of Asian antique furniture and decor, you actually don't get that as much in the photos! Cindy was a very gracious host and excited to share her part of the world with us. Once you get here, the town is easily walked from end to end. A delightful, quite place. Had it been warmer, the garden in the back would have been a lovely sanctuary to enjoy at the end of the day after traipsing about. Sadly, we missed the Saturday morning market that apparently is one of the best in Nova Scotia. Also enjoyed the tidal power plant visitor center. I would highly recommend Famous Red Shed and would enjoy going back!

If the Red Shed isn't famous, it should be - it's perfect! In the centre of a beautiful small town, the home is so comfortable, nicely decorated and full of character. The kitchen was really well stocked and Cindy very kindly left us some bread, milk and coffee, much appreciated. The bedroom has lots of light, a comfortable bed and windows that open letting in a nice cool breeze. The large, private back yard was a wonderful quiet place to lay back and enjoy the surroundings. Cindy was a great host, friendly and accommodating. This is definitely the place to stay if you plan on visiting Annapolis Royal.

Thank you so much for noticing the charm of our town and the property. We like to think we set the setting and let you do the rest, which in this case, it sounds like you did the rest perfectly. Thank you again, and please visit us often. C

What a great little gem in the heart of Annapolis Royal! Be sure to plan to stay over a Saturday as the Saturday Market with bountiful garden treats, bakery items and local artisan crafts is a delight. Cindy was a perfect host and the gardens were a welcome retreat. Highly recommend this little gem.

Red Shed is not what you will expect by the name. It has been transformed into a very lovely apartment style facility. It has all the comforts of home and is beautifully decorated with furniture and art from around the world. It makes one feel comfortable, safe and in the best location. I can assure you that it is a must stay facility in Annapolis Royal.

Thank you Sharon, and Robert...the name...Famous Red Shed, came because....I bought a shed, then built a slightly swanky, cottage...the name just stuck. Thank you again for your visit and comments. C

I confess, I'm a known traveller. On the road for 6 months a year for more than 25 years. Although my work focuses on Asia, I don't think there is a corner of the planet we couldn't have a good discussion about. My hosting technic is quiet simple. Good, clean, safe place for my guests to be at home in...then I disappear. Of course an email, or phone call would have me on site within a minute, but I prefer to let guests enjoy their privacy. If a guests prefers company, by all means we have company...since I own a gallery, the doors are always revolving and we never know who will walk in next. My guests at F.R.S., are always welcome to drop by the gallery for tea, and conversation. ( and entertainment as it turns out).
