Katherine's place was exactly as described and was the perfect home base for our much-needed vacation. The house and grounds are beautiful and we really appreciated the property's design focus on zen and relaxation. This is not the house to rent if you are looking to sit back on the couch and binge on television and the internet, but if you are looking to escape to the mountains for quiet and relaxing quality time with family/friends we can think of no better place to do just that. Some of our favorite memories from our week long vacation were simply cooking in the house, enjoying each other's company and eating together on the deck overlooking the gorgeous grounds. Downtown Asheville is a close and easy drive away and the surrounding areas offer a plethora of outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, and ziplining. Katherine was quick and easy to communicate with and we would come back for another visit in a heartbeat!

The property is amazing and much larger than you can tell from the pictures (particularly the grounds/garden areas).

We had a wonderful time. The no AC had worried us a bit, but it only got really hot when it was raining late in the afternoon. Nights were always cool. If you like really getting deep in the mountains, but still close (30 minutes) to civilization, this was an excellent place to stay.

Great location if you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful place to get away. Nice view of the mountains. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you will need to make nice meals. Grounds are beautiful and nice to explore. Asheville and hiking trails in Hot Springs are 35 to 40 minutes away if you want to venture out but it is very enticing to just chill and get your Zen on at home! Katherine was a very good host, easy to communicate with.

The house is exactly as described and pictured. It was truly a wonderful place to stay for some R&R. Even with drizzly and chilly weather (for May!), it was absolutely stunning and a very peaceful and cozy place. The grounds are enchanting, and the house is welcoming. It's only a ~30-40 minute drive to Asheville and a ~20-30 minute drive to nearby Hot Springs for hiking and exploring along the Appalachian Trail. Katherine was very communicative via Airbnb messages whenever we had a question. We couldn't have asked for a better home base for our inaugural visit to the Asheville/Western NC area!

Live and work at the beach, but play and relax in the mountains. Fascinated by world cultures and religions, and human nature in general. Love to travel and meet new people!
