Posada Don Carlos guesthouse is a colonial mansion, built in 1876, carefully restored by its owners. Located in the heart of the historic quarter in Ciudad Bolivar, it is only steps away from Bolivar square and 200 meters from the Orinoco River. Combining traditional atmosphere with modern conveniences, the options range from sleeping in a hammock to staying in very elegant rooms. Priced as a hostel, we offer hotel-quality service.
We have four elegant rooms with air-conditioning and six comfortable rooms with a fan. They all have en-suite bathrooms. Our terrace is equipped with six hammocks, three bunk-beds and two bathrooms.
Two ample patios with corridors and an antique-style bar, await you for chilling out. We will gladly prepare delicious creole, international and vegetarian dishes.

Run by the owners Martin Haars and his wife Yourleni.
Martin is a German, who learned hotel management at the Schlosshotel Grünwald in Munich. He worked at the Mainz Hilton hotel as night manager and operations analyst for four years.
Feeling attracted to Venezuela during his travels trough Latin America, he arrived in 1993.
Since then he has been dedicated to tourism in the state of Bolivar, first with a tour agency and as a tour operator on the River Caura.
Yourleni, a native of Ciudad Bolivar, got her college degree in tourism management in 1995. She has been dedicated to this area since then, working with Martin in the agency and in the Jungle of the Caura River
Both opened Posada Don Carlos in 2004 and with their team, offer excellent service and strive to attend all their guest´s needs.
The guesthouse received its name in honour of Martin´s father, Don Karl-Heinz Haars, whose support was essential to accomplish the project of this hostel.
