House Rules

NEIGHBORHOOD - Neighborhood quiet hours 10p.m. - 8a.m. Please be mindful of our great neighbors. Do not trespass on neighboring property.
ENERGY USE – Please conserve water by re-using towels as much as possible, taking shorter showers and turning off tap while brushing. Turn off lights in rooms you’re not using and when you leave the house. Turn down thermostat whenever you leave the house.
PETS - We charge an extra $25 for the first pet, then $15 per additional pet. This charge is due to additional cleanup that may be required. If you go for walks, take a bag to remove droppings. Do not allow pets on beds as fur is difficult to clean. In Yosemite, pets must be on leash and only taken on paved Valley floor trails.
SMOKING - Absolutely no smoking in the home. Discarded cigarettes have caused major fires in the Yosemite area, please dispose of smoking materials properly.
FIRES - Follow instructions for indoor wood stove and pellet stove use. Outside fires are only allowed in the provided fire pit from November through April. It is against the law to burn at any other tie due to high fire danger.
TRASH/RECYCLING - Containers are provided in the home for both trash and recycling. Before checkout, please bring garbage/recycling in garage and place in appropriate bins labeled trash or recycling.
FIREARMS - No firing of weapons.
OFF ROADING – No off-roading as it is disruptive to neighbors and causes destruction to our landscape.
CHECK OUT - Check out time is 11a.m. If possible please load and start dishwasher before departure. Please strip beds and put sheets/pillow cases in laundry room.
IF YOU BREAK/SOIL SOMETHING - please let us know and we will charge you through Airbnb appropriately.

The home is a beautiful luxury log cabin and there is a stillness and quietness to being there. As a place of repose and restoration its a perfect place to drop into relaxation away from the rush of city life. The hammock was particularly appreciated by two of our party! And enjoyed some of the books available on the bookshelves. While we loved the property we did find the drive a bit too long being about 1h 40mins to Yosemite Village or Glacier Point.

Beautiful home that is very well equipped. The bathroom was a major highlight of the home that included a shower with multiple spray heads. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped. Would most definitely stay again if we had the opportunity to visit the area again.

Overall great place-- would absolutely come back again if we come back to Yosemite! It is very secluded, about 10 minutes off the main road, down a dirt path road to get to the house. We loved that. The kitchen is wonderful to cook in. Apple TV was great. We loved using the grill on the deck. It is between 1 hour and 1.5 hours to get into Yosemite. Thank you for such a wonderful place to stay!

We loved the house! It's in a good position to visit Yosemite and the surrounding areas, close to the city of Mariposa and not far from Oakhurst. The log cabin is wonderfully maintained with amazing stone work and wood details everywhere. It's tastefully furnished and we didn't miss any of the conveniences of our own home. The deck and the barbecue are a definite plus, too, and we enjoyed them in our summer evenings there. The bathroom is a work of art, you will definitely love it. Tchukon and Carolyn made sure that we didn't miss anything. I would definitely recommend their place to anyone!

Great house in reasonable distance to Yosemite. For those with pets, the grounds do not appear to be fenced. There are also lots of plants that got tangled in our dogs' fur, so be careful letting them outside the manicured areas around the deck and porch. Other than that, everything was perfect.

We loved the place, in the middle of nature, ideally situated to visit Yosemite. The house is very well equipped, has everything you need to cook and eat. A nice table and sufficient chairs for our family of 5. The hammock outside was highly appreciated for relaxing and reading. The reality is even better than the pictures, highly recommended.

Tchukon & Carolyn User ProfileTchukon & Carolyn is a superhost.

Originally from upstate New York, I moved to San Francisco in my 20's and lived there for 18 years. I had quite an exciting life in the city but in my 40's realized I needed a change from big-city living, which brought me to the beautiful mountains of Mariposa. I was trained as a french chef and love to talk about anything food related. Some of my other interests include photography, horseback riding, white water rafting, hiking, off-roading and most importantly...spending time with my family :)
Little bit about Carolyn
Asides for hosting interesting visitors from around the world. I am also part time nurse practitioner and full time mom (which I love more then anything). I have a fitness and diet addiction and when I have the time I enjoy spending it hiking in Yosemite :)
