The hosts Debbie and Shain were very welcoming, helpful and accommodating to our young child. We were fortunate to share an incredible experience with our young child who enjoyed wandering outdoors to admire the animals, and shmurgling the goats and alpacas. It should go without saying, be ready for hungry mosquitos.

Debbie and Shane are wonderful hosts - we loved our stay on the farm (especially the schmurgling!).

Debbie's home is large and beautiful and boasts great views. Debbie is very welcoming, the third floor space is large and spotlessly clean, and breakfast was tasty and generous. On the farm there are alpacas, goats, horses, chickens and dogs, and Debbie loves showing her guests around and answering questions. Mosquito repellent is useful in the evenings. Port Hope is a short drive away and has several decent restaurants for evening meals, though only a couple are open on Mondays. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Everything was amazing

My experience at Haute Goat was a family one: simple, kind and fun. I was really taken good care of. The food was amazing and the room has a perfect view. The beauty of the house and of the land is a delight, but most of all the people that gather there from all kind of places are the special thing at Haute Goat. This is a farm, people work, though very naturally they made a space for me, even if my stay was short. Stop there if you can... there is a garden, a pool, a beautiful house and of course lots of animals! Baby goats and baby alpacas...

My husband and I were both in the television industry (I still have projects in development!), but when we bought our little piece of heaven in 2007 and he retired, we bought some goats, a few horses and haven't looked back. We started a business - Haute Goat - in December 2013, celebrating all things goat, and ours in particular. And the business has grown to include tours, events and all sorts of things on the farm. The move to having a B&B was a natural one as so many people are interested in how we do, what we do.
