The space
The house is from 1837 and belonged to the family of Cardinal Massaia. It 'a place that contains several spaces dedicated to the different moments that enrich everyday living. The liberty of the balcony railing are the initials FM, indicating the property belonged to the Housewife family. It has a large garden with lawn plan for activities and a beautiful orchard and a vegetable garden in preparation. In this house they lived, after Housewife, by Ghelfi family, consisting of a distinguished man, his wife and sister (these two women have reached the beautiful age of 103 one and 97 the other). popular items evoke a very distinguished gentleman who met the children of the country handed out candy. Hence the choice of the name for the house. Currently in the second portion of the garden a bronze bust was placed by the current owners found in the closets of the house. It is dated 1937firmata Piero Ducati, sculptor of Baldissero Torinese. and dated 1937. Our studies on this artist refer us to Lenci ceramics and the fact that he won the Venice Biennale (competition for garden statues). The house has a nice microclimate, a centuries-old palm testifies to the soundness. The dwelling is' oriented on three cardinal points, north, east and south. At night you can admire a wonderful carpet of stars. The villa has a kind of circularity on the inside where the rooms are arranged flow around the double staircase to the upper floor. At the entrance there is a patio reminiscent of colonial times and by a tone to the house and entered it perceives an environment that feels welcoming. The travel the circuits of the rooms takes us on a journey through time and space between fireplaces, dining rooms, intimacy of kitchens, living room for meetings. The staircase with railing and art nouveau mirrors introduce us in the rooms on the upper floor and balcony. From the hallway square like an ancient patio branches off the bedrooms and the bathroom, and even leads to a third floor lit dall'abbaino. From the windows you can admire the hills of Monferrato and, according to the morning or evening, beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

Guest access
In front of the house is a lawn in front with a beautiful orchard (hazelnuts, figs, pomegranates, persimmons, kiwi). To its right you can sit in the shade of the arbor of kiwi, called by us "The bower of peace. '"
Kitchen, dining room, reading room, garden.

Other things to note
On the ground floor are available washing machine and dryer, the firing point (fridge, pots and pans, induction hob) and you will find a welcome set (coffee, tea, sugar, salt and breakfast our teas particularly tasty, the mint tea, jam, toast slices and biscuits from Piedmont. We like to pamper yourself
