Welcome to beautiful Whitestone Lake, this cottage is available all four seasons! Enjoy boating to ice cream, nearby breakfasts, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding & so much more! You’ll love the cottage- so quiet & serene with gorgeous sunlight, trees, the clear lake, the dock, the beachfront, the fireplace, and especially the fresh air. It's great for couples getaways, solo adventurers, families (with kids), & furry friends.

The space
This is a great cottage to unwind in. In the summer, there is a dock as well as a beach, a paddle boat, a canoe, and 2 kayaks for your use (all included in the price of your stay). The BBQ is excellent for cooking up some dinner or snacks, and the patio can seat everyone for a nice outdoor meal. In the fall you can enjoy some great hikes and walks in the area as the leaves change colour. Cozy sweaters and blankets fireside in the living room is fantastic, and a nice hot coffee in the morning by the dock makes for perfect start to the day! The cottage has been completely renovated in 2011, it is strong and secure for all types of weather. In the winter you can enjoy the snow all around you, do some snow-shoeing or cross country skiing. An excellent spot for snowmobiling and ice fishing as well!
Starting the summer of 2018 we are offering the "bunkie" 1970's vintage trailer as an additional room if guests would like to use it for $30CAD extra per night (it has power with lights and a fan included). Please let me know if you will want this!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cottage, which includes the 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The great room and kitchen, and deck are all for your use. The dock and beachfront is available for you, and there is plenty of grass space for cars or a trailer/tent too (tents can be difficult in the spring due to the lake level being high and the ground being soggy).
For the summer of 2018 we have set up our 1970's vintage trailer right beside the cottage that can be used as a bunkie or extra bedroom. It is $30CAD extra per night to use it, sheets and pillows provided.

Other things to note
Please be sure to keep all garbage inside or in the plastic storage or sheds, there are critters that show up and food will really encourage them. You will have to bring your garbage to the landfill on departure. It is open only on certain days and at certain times so be sure to plan accordingly (dates and times listed at the cottage).
The water system is well water, which is tested and treated but we recommend drinking bottled water. The house works on a septic system so please be courteous of things being flushed.
There are blackflies in the spring, and mosquitos generally all summer. There is some bugspray but we reccomend bringing spray and other bug repellants if you are not a fan!

Dunchurch, Ontario, Canada

Whitestone Lake is a fantastic lake to enjoy. It is large enough to accomodate water skiiers and tubers, and yet quiet enough for kayakers and paddleboarders. The neighbourhood is quiet, other people cottaging and a few locals. Nearby you can get to Dunchurch for some great little breakfast and dinner spots, as well as ice cream and local variety stores. McKellar has ice cream as well, and a cafe, and a farm shop with fresh meats. Parry Sound is your best bet for close by major amenities such as WalMart, Sobeys, Home Depot, Pet Value, and Starbucks, which is about 20 minutes away.

Born and raised in Canada, but I just love travelling! Hubby and I have 2 kiddies and a cat! I do many things, and hosting Airbnb properties for myself and for others is one of my favourites :) Our cottage is our family getaway, we love it and we love being able to share it with guests too! Our next trip in the works is to explore France! We love exploring life as the locals would, and are big fans of travelling without a plan.

During your stay
Most of the time I will not be available to meet with guests. We do have a camera monitoring the "back" of the cottage- where the cars park- to watch for intruders, animals, suspicious activity, and also to ensure the number of guests booked aligns with the number of guests arriving. Just keep us posted if numbers ever change! Our good friend Harry lives on Owl's Nest (within 2 minutes) and he will be available to help with any last minute needs. Harry lives on the lake all year round. At times, we stay nearby and then we may get to meet you :D
Martin is our snowplowing friend. He drops by to clear the snow as needed in the winter. Generally he doesn't need to interact with guests but he appreciates it when you move your vehicle for him! :)
