The Blue Bunkie is great for couples & small families. This tiny (360 sq ft) cabin has a main floor bedroom with 3 bunks, bathroom, a private hot tub & cozy wood stove. The romantic loft bedroom features a full-size bed making it an ideal retreat for a romantic getaway.
The cabin's strategic location is near Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Golden Skybridge, & 6 National Parks.
The property is dog-friendly allowing guests to bring their small/med dog companions along for their mountain adventures.
The space
Our tiny cabin retreat is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, close to Banff, Yoho, Jasper, Mount Revelstoke, Kootenay & Glacier National Parks. Only 45 minutes to Lake Louise and 1 1/2 hour drive through breathtaking country to Banff townsite. Escape to this thoughtfully designed tiny home-style cabin, where rustic charm meets smart, compact living. Nestled in a peaceful mountain setting, this cozy retreat is ideal for couples, solo travelers, or a small group of family or friends looking to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. Ideally, the cabin can fit 4 people comfortably, but we can accommodate 5 if there are children.
Pet Owners - The property is small/med size dog-friendly and located in a forested area, allowing guests to bring their dog companions along for their mountain adventures.

⚠️ Please Note:
This cabin features a ship’s ladder to access the loft and is not suitable for guests with mobility challenges. Due to the ladder and loft layout with low, sloped ceilings, and compact design, it is not suitable for toddler- aged children.
The cabin is located in a rural setting, and you may see deer, bears, several birds species, squirrels, bugs, etc. Welcome to the forest, where you can experience all that Mother Nature chooses to show us :) We do ask that you follow the usual precautions such as keeping food and garbage securely stored in provided containers.
🛏️ Comfortable Sleeping Arrangements
Loft: Climb the ship’s ladder to the cozy loft, which features a double/full bed tucked beneath 5 ft (at the peak) sloped ceiling. It’s the perfect nest for a restful night, and also includes a lounging area; a great spot to read, relax, or unwind after a day outdoors. There is a lockable hatch door to ensure privacy.
Bunk Room: Located on the main floor, the bunk room contains three bunk beds (2 lower and 1 upper bunk). Above one of the lower bunks is a large guest storage space for suitcases and additional gear. The room comfortably sleeps up to three guests, with a top bunk suitable for older children or an adult. Each bunk has a lamp, portable fan and charging station.
🍳 Compact Kitchenette
The efficient kitchenette includes a mini fridge with small freezer, microwave, kettle, and basic cookware. Everything you need to whip up light meals, hot drinks, or easy breakfasts. The dining area comfortably seats 5 guests (fifth folding chair is stored under bunk). The kitchenette also features a small coffee bar area and a WETT- certified wood stove with free dry firewood.
Please be aware the loft area heats up quickly and keeping the hatch closed will keep the area at a comfortable sleeping temperature.
**The Little Blue Bunkie is located near Golden Donald Upper Road which provides convenience for access to the Town of Golden, but you may also hear road traffic from time-to-time.**

The bathroom is compact but functional, featuring a full-size shower, toilet, fresh towels, small sink and the essentials you need to clean up and recharge during your stay. Shampoo, conditioner, body & hand soap, and hairdryer are provided for your convenience.

Private hot tub and outdoor fire pit (free firewood) - Guests can soak under the stars after a day of adventure or gather around a crackling fire for a classic mountain evening.
Authentic tiny cabin experience with a cozy certified wood stove and free dry firewood. This property offers a unique and intimate atmosphere with rustic charm, perfect for a memorable and cozy getaway.
There is a Weber BBQ with propane provided. Outdoor seating on the rear deck (Seasonal-we store the outdoor seating during times heavy snow is expected).

***Please be aware there are no laundry facilities for guest use. Cell service is also limited but there is good wifi.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the main floor and loft areas. The basement is reserved for the cleaning staff and owners.
Other things to note
We are on treated well water and a septic system. The water is perfectly safe to drink. We ask that you you treat our septic system with care and only flush bathroom tissue into the toilet.
The entire cabin is only 420sq ft, inclusive of both floors, so quite cozy.
The refrigerator is an under-the-counter unit and small in size. We provide a cooler and ice packs for extra cool storage, but please plan accordingly for a compact space.
We are in bear country and all garbage must be stored appropriately. Bears can become problematic if they find a food source. Please be mindful of protecting wildlife against human interaction.
Another note; cell/mobile service can be limited, however we do have WIFI available.
There is 1 exterior security camera facing the driveway/woodpile.
We cannot edit the cooking basics to remove cooking oil without removing the other cooking basics we provide, but we DO NOT supply cooking oil for guests.
