Interaction with guests
We are just across the street at Agnew's General Store. Pop over for a chat. We have lots of local knowledge to share with you. And, if you're a Geocacher we might even divulge a few hints about some of the local caches.
Other things to note
Want to Canoe? Locally, Deep Roots Adventure, which is practically next door rents canoes and will even drop them off at a lake for you.
Want to Hike? There are Trails maps at 40 Winks or visit the Municipality of Highlands East website to download your own. And, feel free to trek our personal EchoRidge trails that crisscross 150 acres of private forest, open field and wetlands (map at 40 Winks)
- Rule #1: Enjoy your stay, relax in the hammock, go Geocaching, try to pronounce Molybdenite and find a chunk of it. Explore the area.
- Children are welcome but remember, there are un-gated stairs and a loft area.
- Well behaved dogs that agree to sleep on the floor rather than the beds and furniture MAY be allowed. Ask first, please.
- Leave the house as you found it. Please do the dishes and a little light housekeeping.
Ensure all lights are off and the heat is turned down to 60 F when you leave. Thanks
For years we’ve served the community of Wilberforce as the owners of Agnew’s General Store. Now we’ve taken on the additional challenge of offering 40 Winks, a newly renovated Guesthouse across the street from the store. We hope to make your stay as wonderful as possible by bringing, to this new venture, the same high level of commitment and customer satisfaction that we offer at the store.
When not at work we enjoy kayaking the numerous lakes and rivers in the summer and snowshoeing our network of trails in the winter. We know the region well and will gladly offer suggestions for things to do, sites to see and places to be.
Looking forward to your visit,
John and Mary
