If the host took better care of the place, it wouldn't be too bad. The location is great. The cleanliness of the place is deplorable. The shower is gross and mildewed. I'm not exaggerating when I say a good 60 percent of the grout is actually brown and black. The loft bed is comfortable enough, but it hadn't been dusted in some time. We had to do that ourselves to make it sleepable . The window has no covering, so it's a good thing no ones lives right across the way right now. The two windows face an interior courtyard so there is no real breeze and no fan. The place was not ready at the check in time. Even though we were very tired and wanted to nap, we were very nice about it, and went to lunch to give him time to get the place ready. Despite having been gracious about that, when we messaged him that we couldn't find the place, he couldn't be bothered to come downstairs and open the door and flag us over. We lugged our bags up three flights of stairs with no offer of assistance from him, not that I expect it, but after the room not being ready it would've been nice. When we finally got to the top floor there were two rooms, one with the door wide open. We assumed that was the room and started heading that way. His tone was very rude when he said "no, you're wrong about that!" Then he just jerked his head to indicate the other door. He did briefly show us the place. Upon leaving he said "leave the key in the door so I know when you're out". It wasn't so much the words he used as the tone used that left the impression we couldn't be out quickly enough. When we later realized he left no towels in the bathroom, I was very hesitant to contact him. When I did he was very nice though and left them outside the door. They were very stiff and scratchy though. Overall it wasn't so disgusting that I felt compelled to leave immediately, but I would not go back there. I wish I had looked a little harder and paid a little more. On a sidenote, it is no fault of the host but right underneath him lives a very unruly child who screams at all hours.
