As soon as we walked into the Anderson B&B, I noticed that it had a warm and modern European feeling. In speaking with Dawn about this later I learned that she had indeed incorporated her Dutch heritage into this beautifully restored home. If you are looking for something that combines sophistication with down to earthness this is the place for you. Both Dawn and Phil took the time to sit and chat with us while at the same time giving us time to ourselves. My husband, who has experience in house construction, was impressed with the way in which the home has been updated without losing its historic charm. Ps The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was a real treat!

Wonderful place to stay. Great attention to travelers needs in stocking the room. GREAT breakfast with fresh eggs from the chickens, homemade bread, etc. would definitely return and recommend this place

What a delightful place to stay! We were on our way to view the eclipse and not only did they provide us with a beautiful place, the endless cookie jar, pleasant company and a deliciously hot breakfast but also helped us pick our destination for viewing and even printed maps for us on their computer. They've done a beautiful job restoring an early 1900s home while giving it a fun touch of Dawn's Netherlands roots. You won't be disappointed with a stay here!!

Response from Dawn & Phil:
We are thrilled that you were able to fully experience the eclipse and that you enjoyed staying with us. We certainly enjoyed our conversations. It was cloudy in Manhattan. The chickens may have sensed something strange because they all disappeared into the hen house as the eclipse approached but then rallied and came back out for the actual event.

My stay with Dawn & Phil was fantastic. Their house is easy to locate and a wonderful little retreat really close to campus. My only regrets are that I came in too tired to take advantage of the endless cookie jar and I was only able to sit and chat for half an hour post breakfast. The house and company are so welcoming I could have stayed much longer.

What a fabulous total experience with Dawn and Phil, beginning with their welcoming friendliness. They have created a colorful, bright inviting home that clearly shows how hard they work as well as how creative they are. Delicious breakfast topped it off. Loved hanging out on their porches.
