Carolyn's place was perfect for our visit. It was comfortable and gave us an authentic experience of being in Vermont. Also, it was close to the many activities we took part in at Putney School. Make sure to have breakfast there when you can.

We made a last-minute reservation. Carolyn told us she would not be home when we arrived so she left us clear instructions for entry. The room was warm and cozy and she thought of everything a traveler might need. She even had bottled water and a basket of frequently-forgotten toiletry items, etc. the bed was very comfortable and we opened the window for fresh air. The room is on the road so you do hear cars going by if you open the window. Carolyn offered to make us breakfast but we had plans to meet our son to eat. We would stay with Carolyn again. The room is tight but cozy, fine if you have plans by day and just want a comfortable room to sleep. She even allowed us to bring our dog as long as we brought a bed and leash for her. It was just right for us.

I was born in Bennington, VT and raised in Putney, VT. I have lived in Massachusetts, New Mexico, Indiana and New Hampshire but returned to Vermont in 2003 for good. Our family candy business causes me to travel all over Vermont regularly so guests should feel free to ask for directions anywhere in the state. We make peanut and walnut brittles made with Vermont maple syrup. We also have peanut and cashew brittles that are corn syrup free and GMO-free. Free samples for B&B guests.
