This 160m penthouse & terrace garden is ideal for sampling Athens' very core. Instant access to museums, entertainment districts, neoclassical architectural walks, shopping & open-air cinemas. You’ll love its belle époque aesthetic, innercity and Lykavitos Hill views, the silence at night despite the hyper-central location between Exarcheia and Omonoia Sq. When not exploring, chill under the pergola in the huge corner terrace. Ideal for academics, journos, couples, flaneurs, architects, artists.
An architect-designed and immaculately-equipped apartment offered by the Hiboux creative architectural collective (URL HIDDEN) and part of a network of centrally-located properties in Athens, Beirut, Istanbul and Tunis, dedicated to reminding us of an earlier, kinder period of cosmopolitan coexistence in the Mediterranean.
Interiors feature 1950s oak-panelled floors, Persian carpets; period Victorian and French gas-lamps, appliques and suspension-lamps; antique Egyptian, Tunisian and Indian wooden furniture from the early 20th century; original paintings and photography. The huge terrace boasts citrus, olive and walnut trees, alongside an architectural masterpiece: an intricate, 1880s Parisian-style pergola, composed of over 500 individual pieces of welded metal.
Included in the booking is a unique, illustrated, insider's guide to contemporary Athens.
The entire apartment (100m2) and extensive terrace (60ms) with the exception of a locked storage room

Other things to note
This is not a made-for-Airbnb apartment! Lovingly-renovated and furnished with one-off items of furniture and decor, it is a much-loved space and - should you be booking it - you are expected to look after it as if it was your own. Please take your shoes off at the door, wear different footwear on the terrace and inside the apartment, refrain from smoking, and desist from hosting any parties.
Please take off your shoes at the entrance. Protect the parquet flooring by not using the same footwear on the terrace as inside the house. Please be mindful of the environment by turning off the heating or a/c when leaving the apartment. When letting down the vintage, wooden shutters, do so softly as the mechanism doesn't handle roughness. And please be considerate to neighbours by having no loud parties.
Valid ID must be held by guests to be presented upon checkin, in line with Greek law.
