My wife, my daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful time in the little seaside town Marzamemi. And lets be honest. Many hosts use the word 'central' about their houses and apartments. This for once REALLY is central. Is is situated on the most charming spot in Marzamemi with all the lovely little shops and restaurants. The apartment was actually very spacious and equipped with the necessary things. The beds were really good. There was at times an unpleasant smell from the drains. That will soon be fixed I am sure. The roof terrace also is a bit strange. You would want a view but is is very closed to all sides. The architect will not win any prices for this. Giuliana was very, very sweet and helpful and the kind of woman you wish you had as a sister, mother wife, friend etc. She wanted to give the best service and you had every reason to believe she meant it when she said 'please let me know if you need anything or have questions.' We hadn't. The walk to the beach is not far and you are right in the center of all action. We feared it would be noisy at nights but it is not a party town. Just a nice family place. It may be a bit to small for a whole week I have to say. But luckily we had a car so we could travel to Noto and Ortigia etc. Note also that parking is terrible in Marzamemi (as is southern Italy everywhere). You just park where you can and hoe you will not get fined. Everybody else does that ... Be sure to taste the gelato next door btw. And the pesce spada in the recommended restaurant near by - the L'Aquarium' - is excellent. Would we rent this place again if we went to Marzamemi? Ohhh, yes!
