Located directly on the beach in Vilankulos, overlooking the Bazaruto archipelago. Sit back and watch the vivid colours of the tidal waters and channels. Shallow, warm waters ideal for sports and kids fun, long beach walks and day trips to the island.

The house is basic, with concrete floors and cold water plumbing (fed by a borehole on site to a water tank). Refurbished in August 2016 for the launch on Air bnb, with plans for further improvements ahead.

The house is basic but very comfortable. The rooms are big and airy, and great beds. The living room though is a bit clustered with those two sofas, I'd substitute them for something smaller. There's a great kitchen to cook, with all the utensils we could want. There's also a small barbecue grill available on demand. The location is right by the beach, meaning there's a constant wind through the house. Although it was mid-summer, we slept without air con except for one night when the wind stopped completely and it got quite hot (mosquitoes weren't a problem either except for this one night). The location is very quiet, but it also means that for all the services (tour operator, restaurants, markets) you have to drive (or walk a bit, Vilanculos is quite small). There's one tour operator a few meters away from the house, Dolphin Dhow, but we find the services were lacking and the owner himself, Junior, to be quite difficult to deal. I don't recommend their services. What we liked most about the house, however, was our host, sweet Nene. She would be there each morning to greet us, clean the house and help us with anything we needed. She took us to the market, took my wife to a hair salon as she wanted an african cut, and even cooked us some amazing matapa. We also had some great conversations about Mozambique history and culture. She really made us feel welcome.
