Sail away from it all and rent your seaside apartment in the pearl of Tuscan archipelago, Porto Santo Stefano – Monte Argentario. It's located in the most photographed street in the port, leading upwards from the lively yacht port to the Spanish fortress. The closest beach is a ten minute walk. It is just two hours by car or train from Rome. The flat is full of light and you can enjoy your aperitivo on the terrace or go to one of the many bars on the harbour.

The space

The flat has recently renovated and careful attention paid to details. local driftwood has been used creatively throughout the flat and we have restored antique furniture, giving it new uses.

Guest access

You have the whole flat, two long balconies as well as the communal terrace.

Interaction with guests

I do not live in porto Santo Stefano but have a helper who does.

Other things to note

The closest beach is a ten minute walk and there are free buses serving all the Argentario beaches. Just two hours by car or train from Rome, Monte Argentario and the Tuscan Islands are another world. Ferries come and go constantly to the islands. A thriving fishing port as well as being one of the most beautiful ports along the Tuscan coast, Porto Santo Stefano is the perfect place for a break, whether or not you're interested in cooling off in the crystal clear sea. Its’ the jumping off point for visiting the islands of Giglio and Giannutri, but with so much to see and so many trails to explore, there's no need to leave Monte Argentario. Once there, free public buses connect to all the beaches, from tiny rocky coves to the one of the most famous beaches in Italy, La Feniglia, the 5 km south facing sandy beach that is part of a nature reserve and where you can walk for miles along the sand. The lagoon of Orbetello is a WWF reserve and you can spot flamingos there if you’r lucky.
However, do note that Porto Santo Stefano sometimes experiences drop in water pressure. We have installed an extra water tank so when water pressure drops, just turn on the tank (the switch is in front of the fridge)

There's a lot of stairs down to the door and then back up to the fourth level to get to the apartment. But it was well worth it for the amazing view. And the charm of the neighbourhood is fantastic. Excellent decor within the apartment, spacious living room, which was largely unexpected when first viewing the place. Excellently located close to the ristorantes and waterfront but tucked away in the old charm of the back streets. Nadia was extremely communicative and her mother was there to meet us on arrival, even if we were a bit late. Despite the clear directions, we still got lost. Just make sure you approach from the top. Parking was no trouble either.

That place was awesome plain and simple. On the weekend, there is guitar playing over the speakers that are installed on the streets. You're close to a little port that we liked to compare to little Monaco. For the apartment, we were pleasantly surprised to see how big it was and we were able to cook complex meal there. We loved it!!

Response from Nadia:
Hi Alex, it's true that we are not used to having to walk up stairs anymore lifts, but I always find that the view from the flat compensates the climb! I am glad you enjoyed your stay.

Nadia was a superb host and she was extremely responsive even to little questions I had about places in the area. Her place is absolutely lovely and every detail has been looked after. There was a bottle of prosecco waiting for us and the place was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We were there during the massive heat wave and the air conditioning in the bedroom and living room was excellent! It's just a short 5-10 minute walk from great restaurants, a bakery, a small grocery store. Parking was a bit difficult but Nadia gave good instructions to long term parking. This is probably the nicest Airbnb I've stayed in and we didn't want to leave! I highly recommend and would definitely come back again.

Nadia's place is really great value, well presented, and well equipped. She also provides extras like a bottle of prosecco on arrival, coffee, tea etc. Also, the views are amazing and better than expected! We had a great stay in Porto Santo Stefano ...thanks Nadia.

This photo was taken in 2015 on our trip to Australia. We enjoyed exploring the Kimberleys, camping amd driving around. We will go back soon, I hope. We all love travelling and our next trip may be to Japan. In the meantime, I work a lot on my flat by the seaside to make it as comfortable as possible.
