Sail away from it all and rent your seaside apartment in the pearl of Tuscan archipelago, Porto Santo Stefano – Monte Argentario. It's located in the most photographed street in the port, leading upwards from the lively yacht port to the Spanish fortress. The closest beach is a ten minute walk. It is just two hours by car or train from Rome. The flat is full of light and you can enjoy your aperitivo on the terrace or go to one of the many bars on the harbour.
The flat has recently renovated and careful attention paid to details. local driftwood has been used creatively throughout the flat and we have restored antique furniture, giving it new uses.
You have the whole flat, two long balconies as well as the communal terrace.
Interaction with guests
I do not live in porto Santo Stefano but have a helper who does.
Other things to note
The closest beach is a ten minute walk and there are free buses serving all the Argentario beaches. Just two hours by car or train from Rome, Monte Argentario and the Tuscan Islands are another world. Ferries come and go constantly to the islands. A thriving fishing port as well as being one of the most beautiful ports along the Tuscan coast, Porto Santo Stefano is the perfect place for a break, whether or not you're interested in cooling off in the crystal clear sea. Its’ the jumping off point for visiting the islands of Giglio and Giannutri, but with so much to see and so many trails to explore, there's no need to leave Monte Argentario. Once there, free public buses connect to all the beaches, from tiny rocky coves to the one of the most famous beaches in Italy, La Feniglia, the 5 km south facing sandy beach that is part of a nature reserve and where you can walk for miles along the sand. The lagoon of Orbetello is a WWF reserve and you can spot flamingos there if you’r lucky.
However, do note that Porto Santo Stefano sometimes experiences drop in water pressure. We have installed an extra water tank so when water pressure drops, just turn on the tank (the switch is in front of the fridge)

This photo was taken in 2015 on our trip to Australia. We enjoyed exploring the Kimberleys, camping amd driving around. We will go back soon, I hope. We all love travelling and our next trip may be to Japan. In the meantime, I work a lot on my flat by the seaside to make it as comfortable as possible.
