Our place is close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, public transport, and the beach. You’ll love our place because of the outdoors space and the location. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Check out our website (URL HIDDEN) for more information on the local area and locals that we especially love to love.

The space
Located on an acre of land within walking distance of downtown Langford’s Goldstream Village and bordering Mill Hill Regional Park, our property is a relatively untamed oasis in the city. Our suite is 1100 sq ft with two bedrooms, full kitchen and bathroom, in suite laundry facilities, woodstove, BBQ and covered deck with forest views. With one queen bedroom and one double bedroom the suite can accommodate a maximum of 4 people comfortably and has a spacious living and dining area for small groups to gather.

Guest access
Guests have complete use of the space. No meals are provided as it is a fully self contained space with everything you need to prepare your own meals.

Guest(s) also have access to roam around the back of our property. We have an outdoor fire pit and a great area for bocce on the lawn or laying blankets out in the sun!

Other things to note
- Pets are charged an additional cleaning fee of $50 per pet.
- The property is on a septic system.
- We compost ALL food scraps and recycle as much as we possibly can..we'll help you to help us do that!
- Parking is limited to two vehicles. Our driveway is steep so we recommend that you park on the road on arrival and walk down so that we can show you where to park.
- Use of the wood stove is seasonal and is non-operational from May 15th through September 15th. Guest(s) must read and adhere to the instructions provided for the operation of the wood stove. The first bundle of firewood is included in the rental fee. Additional bundles of wood can be purchased from the Owner at a cost of $5 per bundle to be paid cash on delivery. Firewood can also be obtained from local markets.

We are a family of four that is slowly (but surely!) transitioning from a life of mindless consumption and toxic options toward one of zero waste, greater ecological, and environmental stewardship.  Utilizing permaculture and ecological design techniques, becoming huge composting and recycling nerds and embracing the spirit of the natural world that surrounds us, we are on a mission to practice sustainable urban land care SOUL-utions on our little urban homestead in the heart of Langford. A single step begins any journey and so we take this step now, of opening our suite for use as a vacation rental, in the hopes that we can inspire others to return and reconnect with themselves, one another and the natural world. And also to inspire us and provide us the opportunity to nurture that aspect of ourselves and others within our community and be of spiritual and ecological service in the world. A little more about Gareth..... 1) What are 5 things you can't live without? I’m really not sure what it would be that I can’t live without. There are certain people, creature comforts, and things that make life a lot more enjoyable and worthwhile. My wife, Rachel, my son, Jett and my daughter, Dharma, are the top of my list! Without them my life would definitely not look the way it does and would not be nearly as awesome. They’ve come into my life and continue to change it for the better, each and every day. One of my life’s strongest passions is connection between people. Talking philosophy and sharing about life’s stories and adventures. Finding similarities in the seas of difference. Another passion of mine is motorbikes. To me one of the best feelings in the world is getting out on a bike and seeing where it goes. Feeling the wind. Meditating the whole experience. I like to think of myself as a meditating-motor head. Although I have not done a lot of tooling on bikes I believe I know a bit about the workings of bikes. I also love listening and playing music. It has moved me through life, healed me when I’ve felt broken, inspired me when I’ve felt lost and brought countless hours of joy into my life. I am working on making more time to play and enjoy creating in that medium more and more, once again. 2) What are some of your favourite places, books, movies, foods, music? Some of my favorite places to go have been almost anywhere on my bike, South-East Asia, Europe, Australia and across Canada. Thailand & Laos were some of my favorite places on earth, so far. I travelled around there for a few months years ago and just found the place and the people to be wonderful. I’ve often thought of retiring there although it has been pointed out to me that I was on vacation while there and not living there permanently. With all the places I’ve lived and travelled to my favorite is without a doubt… right here, right now. My most adventurous and exciting place to travel to is a journey that takes me inward. Where ever I am in the world my journey is always taking me to a deeper understanding of myself…even if it’s the long way round some times. It is hard to pick a favorite book or books. It depends on so many things. I have been moved by works by Osho, Deepak Chopra, Don Miguel Ruiz, Brene Brown to name a few. I tend to really get into what I’m reading, and even more so watching, so keeping myself surrounded with up-beat, positive, inspiring things are always a good thing. Food… I love food! I enjoy travelling to try out new things, although I do struggle to try new things too! I have a habit of finding what I like and sticking to it. I love good quality burgers and salads, Asian food, Italian food & Indian food to name a few. 3) What's it like to have you as a guest or host? My hope is to always be a quiet, well-mannered guest and a gracious host. I like to leave a place as good or better than I found it. I enjoy getting to know the locals and feeling the local energy.
