Enjoy peace and quiet in an air-conditioned and immaculate private room with adjoining bath in our eco-friendly home on 1 acre. Lots of parking and close to Vancouver Lake, WSU-Vancouver, Legacy SC Hospital and Clark County Event Center. Only 20 minutes from PDX and downtown Portland. We do have a small cat, Izzy, who sleeps in the garage.
Your private suite has a comfy double bed and looks out to the quiet backyard. The adjoining bath has a tub/shower with safety bar. We built our home in the late 1990s using structural insulated panels (SIPs) so it's comfortable and quiet year-round. We used low-VOC paints throughout and maintain with non-toxic cleaners, so it's a very healthy home. Help yourself to as much Multi-Pure filtered water at the kitchen sink as you can drink!
Guests are welcome to the patio and garden at all times. With prior arrangement, you may have access to the kitchen. Feel free to join us in the evening in the living room with the cable TV (and wood stove in winter).
Interaction with guests
This is our home and we are friendly people. We are early-risers and if you are, too, we can greet you with a hot cup of organic, shade-grown, fair-trade Cafe Mam coffee! Help yourself to a cup of yogurt in the frig and a muffin/breakfast cookie and fruit on the counter (if we get a day or two notice before booking).
Other things to note
NOTE: This is our private residence, so we do require a refundable $100 security deposit for all reservations--it is authorized by Airbnb before checking in and voided by Airbnb within 48 hours after checking out (unless there is an issue).
No smoking. No pets. No drugs.
Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM on weekdays; 11-8 on weekends. We want your stay to be as pleasant as possible so let us know if there's anything you need that we can reasonably supply.
Both of us are friendly and outgoing. We hand-built our home to share with others and enjoy meeting new people. We like thoughtful films that keep you pondering for a few days afterwards, and good books.
We are both self-employed. Patrick designs smart and simple structures that use resources wisely, and Jill is an actor/voiceover artist and film producer, who also sells wonderful children's books. When not working, Jill loves to read, dance, sew and play games; and, of course, we both enjoy those good films.
