After months of tidy, clean, respectful renters, I have had a run of people who suck. Open food left out, lamps across the room on the floor, broken antique glass, towels taken, electronics messed with. This is unacceptable. This is my home, and when it is treated disrespectfully it is demoralizing. I just want to make a bit of money and come back to see my space not violated. My standards of cleanliness are normal and totally reasonable. Therefore if you know you are not responsible, do not inquire. I will not hesitate to leave a bad review. If you're not a slob, read on...:)

Sitting in the comfy cross-breezes in my quiet apartment, looking out over the Silverlake hills and the San Gabriel mountains, you would never know that you are RIGHT ON SUNSET BLVD.! Literally just out the front door are fun bars with deejays, original cocktails, bands and comedy shows, cafes, record stores, top quality restaurants (Thai, Mexican (both upscale and taco stand), Indian, vegan Vietnamese, to name just a few), a gelatto place, a comic book store... Sunset Junction is very vibrant and has been for decades. You're a 10 minute walk from the subway which goes all over the city, and there are many buses immediately on Sunset that will take you to downtown, Dodger Stadium or Hollywood in 15 minutes. The neighborhood is extremely safe, and street parking is easy to find - you'll never be even a full block away from the apartment.

Guest access

Laundry in basement, whatever food is in the fridge, french press and espresso coffee, microwave, gas range, 42" TV, A/C in bedroom

Interaction with guests

I like to meet guests on arrival and see them out. I generally stay nearby and am available to help.

**ALSO**
This is my actual home, not a designated rental space. I stay with my girlfriend when guests come. I have an eclectic, Bohemian decorative style, a collection of books, records, CDs and DVDs that fill the shelves. Not all of my plates and cups match. All of my furniture is clean, comfortable and functional, but it is not brand new. The bed is great! I am not Martha Stewart and I am not a rich man - hence my being an Airbnb host! For the tiny minority of people who might not like this, read this again and look at the photos before you request a stay. For the 99% of you who already like my playce, congratulations on your good taste!

Good guy. Very helpful and friendly. The place is in an interesting area with restaurants and bars, and very walkable. The place itself is in an old building, and is an old apartment. But tidy and good value.

Steven was an excellent host! His place was awesome and really comfy. Steven was able to show me around the neighbourhood (which is amazing) and tell me about all the cool hotspots that were nearby. Parking is a cinch as well on the side streets so don't even sweat it. He was super accommodating and great. I would return again!

Steven's place is in a very hip and convenient part of town. LA isn't known for being transit-friendly but I had no problem without a car, either getting around locally on foot/transit or getting back to the airport after (an express bus right across the street goes straight to the airport shuttle downtown). Lots of good restaurants, bars, etc. nearby and pretty good jogging and hiking too. Steven was a prompt, courteous and helpful host.
