Beautiful home in Kaka Point with two private rooms with super king beds, ensuites and joining lounge room. Set among a gorgeous garden, Kaka Point is a picturesque coastal village, home to yellow eyed penguins, seals, sea lions and more.
7 years ago John and I retired to the Catlins after a busy Farming life of 40years +.Ours farm was 1500 acres and we had 3000 sheep,100 breeding cows and wintered 100 calves plus a few other animals, all this took some work as there were always men to cook for, shearers ,haymakers and two single boys who were permanent staff.
Before John and I married I was a nurse in the city of Dunedin but with a busy farm life this wasn't persued as we then had three children who are now grow up and have given us our five lovely little grandchildren in Melbourne,Auckland and Dunedin. We spend as much time with them as possible.
As you have probably gathered Johm and I love having people around hence when we built our home in the Catlins we actually built it with our family in mind but we seem to have to visit them more than they us so hence our Bed and Breakfast was developed with two rooms and ensuites with a lounge/ dining area in between.Because we do this in between other interests we like to space our guests out so each one can enjoy what we have to offer them, the peace, tranquility, privacy, scenery, and the wildlife in the area.
John and I have varied interests,we have both had our pilot licenses and half shared in a little Cessna 172,it was great fun,we both have travelled since educating our family, and have done mostly backpacking, although have travelled with Intrepid.we have been to Nepal trekking,Peru and Bolivia,Turkey Croatia Slovenia,England,Ireland and Scotland while our girls were on their OE.India and Darjeeling and Cuba and Alaska has been great and while we our fit enough we try and do these things. Our last trip this winter for us was a bike barge trip in Belgium and Holland,it was really fun.
Our other interests are gardening, golf, bowls, and of course our guests. We love what we do and when we feel we have nothing else to offer we will stop doing this.
Our motto is to enjoy every day on top of this earth and always have our glass half full,in other words be positive
