PLACES OF INTEREST
Broadwell, one of the undiscovered beauty spots of the Cotswolds, has a lovely village green ringed by cotswold stone cottages, a gentle stream running through the village and over a ford, and a Norman church with some intriguing historical monuments. Broadwell is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. At that time it had 46 inhabitants, and the church of St. Paul dates in part to that period. During the later Middle Ages the estate belonged to the Benedictine order of monks. The Fox Inn, on the village green, serves good pub food and local Donnington ales, and is a short walk from the property.
Stow-on-the-Wold with it's interesting shops, pubs and restaurants and Tesco lies just 1½ miles away and there is a very pleasant walk to be had up past the Roman well. London is 75 miles to the east and there is a good train service from the stations of Moreton-in-Marsh and Kingham. The property is perfectly situated for sight seeing, walking and golfing. including:-

Trish and I came to Broadwell 40 years, ago prior to my retirement from the Royal Air Force in 1994. Our home, a stone barn barn built in 1795, has been converted to a dwelling largely by ourselves over some 17 years! We have been successfully letting our adjacent Temple Mews for six years and our 300 visitors have come from many parts of the UK and from overseas; all have left glowing reports in our visitors book. Indeed we have quite a few guests who come to us year on year. We decided to try Airbnb for our advertising in December 2016. We are well established in our village. I do some volunteer work like organising the cutting of the village green and general repairs and I keep a couple of bee hives. I regularly clean the beer pipes for the Queen's pub in Stow-on-the-Wold and the Golden Ball in Lower Swell and I am a regular at our village pub, The Fox. We both like gardening, although I seem to do all the heavy work, and Trish makes the garden come to life. She also likes shopping!!
