It is with great sadness that we received your comments regarding your stay in our apartment. We have reviewed your feedback carefully, and assure you we take your comments seriously.
With regards to your distaste at the flooring in the apartment, the building its situated in is dated 1880 - and usually its loved for our guests because its an antique and unique space. That being said, safety is of utmost concern, and we regularly review the space to ensure any required repairs are made.
With regards to noise, as you're aware, the apartment is located centrally in a busy and desirable area of Madrid. This does mean that there is some additional noise that you wouldn't otherwise receive if it was located in a less desirable area. That said, to ensure a good experience for our guests, we had already made sure to change out the original windows for versions that have explicit noise dampening functionality. But of course there is still some noise that is hard to avoid.
With regards to the smell in the apartment, this was something we had not experienced before. It appears that the excessive rain (some of the heaviest showers in Madrid in years) had affected pipe system in the building. This was very unfortunate, and we are very sorry you had to experience that.
An ideal solution at the time would have been to relocate you to one of our other apartments. Unfortunately it turned out all the apartments were fully booked that night, otherwise we would have made full provisions for that to take place.
Whilst above, we have discussed rationale for the situation you found yourself in, we still assume full responsibility with everything that happened. We want to welcome you again to Madrid, and will do all that we can to ensure it is a great experience.
