What can we say except brilliant , staying here made a wonderful break memorable , right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of this great city and yet so quiet and peaceful . The apartment oozes charm ,sophistication , style and yet is so easy to live in , the views WOW !! Sitting on the terrace overlooking the river was spectacular . Filipa's knowledge of the city is remarkable and the information she supplied was so helpful .This wonderful lady goes a step further than most hosts, she booked restaurants for us , nothing was too much trouble .If you are coming to Lisbon I have one big suggestion Stay here . The apartment is absolutely beautiful with wonderful views. It's furnished with an incredible array of antiques and paintings, and has a lovely outdoor space as well. And Filipa herself was very thoughtful, helpful and gracious.

We had a wonderful week in Chiado at Filipa's apartment. The location and view is perfect for a mix of sightseeing, staying in, walking around and entertainment. The added wonder is that this is a traditionally and beautifully furnished family home, perfect for a group of 4 in the two bedrooms - and would be ok for 6. Filipa is the most charming, considerate and delightful host, making available what is the premium floor of a long standing home of the family (entirely self contained and in a quiet cul de sac but with a wonderful view over the Tagus through the many windows to the rear). Of all the European breaks we have had with AirbnB this has been the best and most delightful, in large part because of where we stayed. We would love to go back. This apartment offers a wonderful way to spend time in Lisbon. We found the location so convenient - an easy walk to the Baixa-Chiado subway station and the Cais do Sodré, and many bars, restaurants, and shops. And the apartment itself offers such a wonderful experience. It's grand, noble, charming, and warm, on the top floor of a historic house and full of beautiful antiques and art. Tall french doors open from the living room and two bedrooms onto a large private terraces, with beautiful views out over Lisbon and the bay. Highly recommended!

It was amazing. The location is very very central, within the old town center. The house has impressive river view. Very nice balcony to chill out. Unique architecture. And such a friendly home owner. She surprised us in many ways during our stay. If we ever go to Lisbon again, we will definately stay in the same place.

We would rather stay at Filipa's than at the Ritz! We were delighted by the entire experience. Filipa is a gracious and adorable host, and the space is wonderful. The location is ideal: a charming side street, tucked beyond a stone archway, perfectly tranquil while perfectly central. A lovely hidden fold right in the historic center, walking distance to all sorts of culinary treats. The apartment is elegantly appointed, spacious and serene. Its tiled entrance hall is airy and exquisite, a beautiful example of Portuguese interior architecture. The space is immaculately clean, yet also cozy and welcoming. We felt at home immediately, and were grateful for how Filipa anticipates every detail to ensure that visitors are comfortable. This is such a warm and atmospheric home that arriving back from excursions is a pleasure. The view is gorgeous, and can be enjoyed from both the living room and the two bedrooms, as well as the ample outdoor patio. Waking up to this view every day is amazing, and the sunsets are glorious. We were delighted to discover such an enchanting base for our Lisbon adventure. Truly a treasure. Thank you Filipa!

We loved Filipa’s apartment, or more precisely, mansion. We loved Filipa who’s not just a super host, but more like a family member. I have stayed in several nice/expensive airbnb places in Mexico, San Francisco, London but nothing comes close to Filipa’s place. Filipa’s place is located in a very convenient place (Chiado), where you can easily walk to many attractions. The two metro stations (Baixa-Chiado and Cais do Sodré) are within 10-mins of walk. The Timeout Market is also very close by, from there we also walked up to the Barrio Alto area (where many bars and restaurants are located). We also walked to Palace Square (Praca do Comercio), which is about 15min away. After lunch, we continued to walk east to Museum of Fado and the Alfama district to see the colorful houses in this oldest part of the city. BTW, taking taxi in Lisbon is quite inexpensive anyway and Uber is even better. Filipa’s house is at a cul-de-sac location, and as a result, very quite. Lisbon is a safe place to start with but being at a Cul-de-sac location provides an extra sense of security. Inside, there are everything you need, from nice/confortable beds to two separate bath rooms, a huge (really huge) dining room and living room as well as a spacious kitchen. We really enjoyed the large patio which provides a great view of a nicely kept lawn with blooming flowers in the yard, the Tagus river, the “25 de Abril Bridge” (which looks like the Goldegate bridge in SF). You can walk out of either bedroom and living room through the beautiful French windows/doors with grills to the patio and enjoy the above views. All the furniture in the room and patio are classy and comfy. The interior walls are decorated with paintings which made it look like a palace. The dinning table has been set with plates which provides a nice banquet –like feel. We used the dish washer and the washing/drying machine, which are in great conditions. The best part of the stay is our interaction with Filipa., who is very considerate and kind and goes way beyond what you would expect a super host would do to make our stay as pleasant as possible. She is very responsive before we arrive, and then waited for us at the door when we arrived near 7:30pm (due to flight delay). She not only decorated the dining table for the upcoming Easter Sunday (with color paper wrapped eggs and delicious chocolate), but bought a lot of fresh pastries, set in a 3-layer tary (similar to the one you would find from a afternoon tea place), fresh juices and water for us. She’s a classy lady with a very rich knowledge of the history and culture, someone I’d love to chat with for a whole day if I have time. She has not only a pile of maps/guide books in the apartment for us to use/read, but also a detailed list prepared by herself...

Response from Filipa:
Due to the word limit Mr Chunming kindly asked to add his remaining comments for which we would like to thank him for: ".... for which she provided directions and explanations in great detail. In the morning we left, She came to say goodbyes to us. There’re so many other great things I could write about Filipa and her place. Like most kids their age, my two grown up kids normally prefer staying in hotels over Airbnb, and sometimes, they could be cynical as well. But they love Filipa and her place very much and urged me to write a good review for her, which I intended to do anyway and hope that this review does the justice to her and her place."
