This farmhouse was built by revolutionary soldier, John Bagley, whose farm once covered hundreds of acres in the area. This historic post and beam home is comfortably decorated in an eclectic mix of vintage and mid-century furnishings.
The ground floor of this house has a roomy living room with a mid-century modern Morso wood stove, plus a TV and dvd player; a charming dining room, a laundry room, and a luxury bathroom which was recently renovated using reclaimed wood from the original kings boards of the house. A fully equipped chefs kitchen with a Bertazzoni range and Sub-Zero refrigerator also has a spot with a mid-century table and chairs where you can sip your coffee or tea.
Upstairs, you will find floorboards wider than you've ever seen before . The bathroom has a claw foot tub to soak in. There is a library with a comfy chaise to get away and read or snooze. Additionally, there is a bedroom with two single beds that is also available for rental.
Your room will be a peaceful double room overlooking the garden, and Windham High Peak in the distance. Please note, there is also a second room with two twin beds available. Ask us about it.
During your stay, you will have access to your bedroom, all rooms except for bedrooms other than yours, plus the 4 acre-grounds around the house.
Breakfast and/or breakfast supplies will be provided.
Stove, oven or barbecue use is not permitted without permission of owner.
No smoking indoors, smoking only permitted in garden or on side porch.
Occupancy is limited to 2 persons per room.
Please be pet friendly as there are three small, friendly dogs on premises, as well as a pretty and very sweet little calico cat.
Interaction with guests
I am the co-owner of a popular Catskills inn, so you will benefit from my experience taking care of and breakfast-making for guests (we are quite well known for our cooking!), but also knowing when to offer privacy.
We do live in the house. Sometimes we are here, sometimes we are not. So you will have plenty of privacy.
Other things to note
Guests will have breakfast or breakfast supplies, such as home-made muffins and breads, toast, cereals, yogurts, juice and assorted fruit (and maybe a casual cooked breakfast if I'm around to cook for you!). Kitchen equipment access is limited to coffee/tea-making, toasting and microwaving. Cooking on stove/oven/barbecue is available upon approval of host.
Due to the limited rooms in our inn, cancellations affect us significantly. A last-minute cancellation gives us little chance of filling space due to our secluded location. Thank you for understanding that we maintain a strict cancellation policy as a result.
Cancel up to 7 days before your trip and get a 50% refund. Cancel within 7 days of your trip and the reservation is non-refundable.

Originally from England (born and raised in Liverpool). I live in-between Jersey City and the Catskills with my animal family. I rescue animals - some I place in homes, some I keep - such as the 22 year old white Persian cat, Casper adopted at 18, who likes to boss our Brussels Griffon rescue dogs around.
I love to travel, not just to the usual places. I love those, but prefer to find those out of the way spots and hang out with locals. Colombia, Ivory Coast, Sicily, Hong Kong, China, Ukraine, Philippines... too many places to mention here. But there are SO many more I have to get to.
When I travel I do like to stay in places with character. Not just bare to the bones rentals. My home is that way, and I love to share it with people who appreciate eclectic and nice things. The people who rent my home always comment on how they love my belongings and feel like they are staying in a comfortable and interesting place. And because I like to eat (err... cook), my kitchen is equipped to spend a weekend pretending to be on the Food Network!
I co-own (with my friend) a vintage furnishings and prop rental business. We also have recently restored an historic hotel in Oak Hill in the heart of the Catskills, it is now operating as an inn/vintage shop/event space/sharer of local goods - which is also featured on airbnb for single room rentals and for entire house rental.
