Hello! My wife and I are renting a sunny, private room with a comfy queen sized bed and private bathroom in our freshly rehabbed, historic Chicago greystone house. We often rent to whole house during summer months and the holidays.
Our house features two floors, large airy rooms, high ceilings, a full kitchen and dining room, wireless internet, central air, in-house washer/dryer on the 2nd floor near your room, a covered back porch, a lush back yard, charcoal grill, free parking, hardwood floors and sits on 54th St, a very quiet street in Hyde Park. There's plentiful parking in front of our home on the street. The room is just down the hall from its own bath. We gut rehabbed the 2nd floor of our home last year and while the new oak flooring gleams, the house has retained many vintage details and charm. Please note we have a dog.
Whether you’re coming to visit the University of Chicago or the UC Medical Center, traveling to the States or looking to visit a new part of Chicago, our space is ideal for single travelers and couples who enjoy comfort, clean accommodation and green space in the city. Please note that my wife and I have two children who are wonderful, low-key and friendly. Italian is often spoken in our household. I’m an artist so if you’re looking to sample culture in Chicago, whether it’s food, art openings, music or theater, I’m more than happy to provide suggestions for making your stay in the Windy City wonderful.
Please note we have a $50 fee for lost keys.
We're close to the University of Chicago, Hyde Park's restaurants and shops, Promontory Point Park/57th Street Beach and the Museum of Science & Industry. Downtown Chicago is nearby and accessed by the express #6 bus, Metra line or a short 15 minutes down beautiful Lake Shore Drive by car. We’re in the heart of Hyde Park, within walking distance of grocery stores, the newly reopened Harper movie theater and Lake Michigan. Come hang out in our limestone castle!
