A rustic straw-bale and stone cottage sleeping 9. This eco character semi-rural house was built as part of a sustainable community. Set on 6 acres of Jarrah and Marri and overlooking a private swimming dam, it is ideal for people wishing to get away from the fast lane and share the simple life.
Water is supplied via rainwater tank. The insulating straw - bale keeps the main living cool in summer and warm in winter. Wood fired indoor fireplace (wood provided) keeps the house warm.

The space
This home consists of four bedrooms -One main bedroom upstairs with king-size bed, ensuite and verandah, one queen bed room leading onto the garden , a large king bedroom and single bed with doors leading outside and a further queen bedroom with a single bunk bed.

There is a conservatory style bathroom with shower and bath and flushing toilet. The third bathroom is outside and consists of an external compost loo and external shower with hot and cold water and an external basin.

There are two living rooms a dining area, and a separate parents retreat. The house has a large Marri kitchen with walk–in strawbale pantry.
There is an XBox oneS, two TV’s (smart with Netflix access) ,free wi-fi, DVDs, pool table, board games, puzzles, dartboard, basketball hoop and outside fire pit (fire ban restrictions apply)

Due to the proximity of the swimming dam (NOT FENCED) this property is only suitable for small children if they are supervised at all times.

Well behaved dogs (up to two dogs) are welcome on condition they are not left on their own in the house for long periods. There is an partially enclosed laundry area or long lead attached to the front verandah.
Please do not allow dogs into the bedrooms.

A local artist lives next door to the cottage and group or private art lessons can be arranged. His paintings are on display in the cottage.
Fresh eggs may be available if our four chooks are laying.

The Cleaning Fee includes clean linen supply and bathroom towels. Please bring your own beach/swimming towels

Guest access
The whole house is available including 4 bedrooms, dining area , sitting area, playroom, upstairs veranda, downstairs veranda, 8 seater dining table,bathroom, outdoor laundry area, conservatory style bathroom. A porta-cot is available.
A sleeper sofa (no linen) is available in the common area.

Other things to note
We encourage our guests to conserve water by utilising the compost loo and having quick showers. We also like to monitor light pollution by turning lights off when rooms are not in use. Thank you !
