A converted barn at Cann Common next to the main house with its own garden, patio and parking area. Located on a no-through road with only local residents traffic, giving a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding hills.

Shaftesbury just over a mile with its historic Gold Hill and a good choice of shops and places to eat. It is a good base for exploring the area, offering historic houses, interesting gardens, walks, the Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath and much more.

The space
The Barn has its own separate entrance into a large, bright open-plan space divided into kitchen, dining and sitting area. The kitchen is well equipped and to one side a door leads outside to its own private garden with patio sitting area and lawn. To the right of the main door a staircase leads upstairs to the bedroom and bathroom where quality towels and towelling robes are provided. The luxurious king size bed has crisp white Egyptian sheets and pleasing views of the surrounding hills and the garden is readily seen through the windows.

Guest access
The Barn is attached to the side of the house with its own separate front door leading from the parking area, there are also side gates leading to the private garden at the back which is also accessible via a back door from the kitchen area.

Other things to note
I already have excellent reviews for cleanliness but in view of Covid 19 will take particular care cleaning key touch areas such as banisters, light switches, door handles, seating areas etc.

The bedding has additional protective layers that will all be washed after each guest.

I have introduced a minimum 2 day gap between each booking, for this reason the minimum stay is 3 nights.

Location

Cann Common, England, United Kingdom

The property is located in a very pleasant, quiet rural location, but readily accessible to main routes giving access to a variety of places of interest to visit. We have a number of high quality eating venues in the locality, Shaftesbury 2 miles away, a saxon hilltop town with plenty of interesting aspects to view, shops to enjoy and good food. Farther afield Salisbury with its magnificent cathedral and Stonehenge close by, also Bath the Roman Baths and its beautiful bath stone buildings. We are not far from the coast, giving chance of good walking and also the well known Jurassic Coast line.

I am semi retired and have lived in this locality for 45 years. I have 2 dogs, love being outside, gardening, walking, fishing and I sing in a couple of local choirs. I enjoy travelling and meeting people.
During your stay
I live in the main house and will be very happy to help in any way to make your stay an enjoyable experience. I have lived in north Dorset for 40 years so have a good knowledge of the area and what it has to offer.
