No. 306, on Calle Vicente Guerrero has quick access to incredible beaches and 3-mile seafront 5 blocks away.

Eclectic art galleries, theatre, cultural centres and bohemian cafes, quality restaurants and hip music bars a stone's throw away.

You will love my space for its tranquility, bird song, closeness to town, and all the graceful 'people' who occupy it.

Perfect for adventurers and nature lovers!

The space
'MI CASA ES TU CASA'
Most travellers would say this is an artists' and adventurer's space, filled with rough shod furniture and interesting rooms filled with the colour of curious designs and the creative imagination it took to place them there!
The space here at number 306, includes 2 rented bedrooms, one with a double bed and the second with 2 singles and a third stored under one of the singles. for an extra guest if required.
In keeping with the old la Paz style of the house and garden, all the rooms have a rustic look, but with vibrant Mexican colours, and a theme to each room. The double room has a Tibetan colour theme also similar to the Hopi Indian colours and the larger kitchenette/bar room has a marine theme. Both have work desks and chairs, two windows, ceiling fan and air conditioning and the larger room, a refrigerator.
To the left of both rooms and down the corridor you will find the bathroom and shower.
At the end of the corridor is my equipment room with dive suits, biking, kiting and surf equipment. One of the bicycles is available for hire .
I teach Freediving as a profession as well as Yoga and information on my courses of instruction can be found on my website, MTSolomonsFreediving, or my professional page, Technique in Blue.

Guest access
The larger back bedroom has a breakfast bar with a small stove, refrigerator and basic kitchen items for teas and coffees and gives you the independence to make your own breakfast in your own space, and store basic foods for the day. It does not, however have a sink so you are welcome to use the house kitchen for cleaning the dirty dishes and utensils.

I ask each guest to make sure they keep the main kitchen clean and free of their used pans, dishes, glasses and cups. Please return the things you've used and washed back to your room once you have finished with them and before you head out.

The double bed bedroom does not have the kitchenette option and guests are welcome to use the main kitchen at breakfast times to prepare teas and coffees and basic cold breakfasts.

The main kitchen is not available for guest use during the day or evening unless otherwise invited.

The back yard is a beautiful tree shaded patio with a herb garden in the making and a desert plant section.
‘Quiet’ use of this space is till 10.30pm on weekends and 9pm on weekdays.

The Yoga Space
Across the hall to the right of 'The Sun-Moon room' is my Yoga space where I practice and teach private yoga classes on occasion and practice body work based on a gentle myofascial technique called DNFT, (Directional Non-Force Technique).
Guests are welcome to use this space for their own meditation or yoga practice/ quiet time IF the room is not being used as an alternative guest quarters.
If you are interested in receiving a session of either yoga or DNFT, and I am available please let me know and I will be happy to arrange a schedule for you. The massage table is not available for private use.

Breakfast coffee and teas and a selection of fruits are available for you to prepare in your own time in the mornings.

There is plenty of parking space immediately outside the house as this is the only house on the block on a very quiet street. However anything personal left in the car is left at yur own risk.

I have a couple for bicycles, kayaks, surfboards and kitesurf equipment and an assortment of basic snorkel equipment available to rent, if I am in the house and in la Paz at the time of your arrival .

I teach freediving and have a 22ft 'panga' skiff which I use to access deeper water for the different level courses I teach, or to get to the more isolated beaches. With prior notice and if I am not teaching on those days you can arrange your first 'Intro to Freediving course' or book on a day by day basis.

Other things to note
I have written up a set of house rules which are available in English in every room. They basically ask everyone to practice 'Mindfulness and respectful of each other. Basically be clean, quiet and tidy up after yourselves!

When a common area, is shared, be it kitchen, yoga space and garden space or you are invited to share an evening together or not, the energy of quiet respect is how this house works.

There is no daily cleaning lady, and no room service but neither are there fees added for those extras. I ask everyone to treat the house as if he/she were taking care of that space, especially in the shared areas.

There is NO SMOKING inside the house. Any smokers are welcome to smoke outside in the open area of the garden.

I prefer to keep the inner space peaceful, no loud parties, but a quiet gathering outside in the BBQ area is fine.

Quiet time after 10:00 p.m.

Due to the playful, larger animals it may not be safe or suitable for infants (Under 2 years).
If you are travelling with your pets please let me know to assess how we can accommodate them. I already have a selection as you see and they are house personalities. Other pets have adapted but best to check first and I'll do my best to see how we can help them all.

Please phone in prior of your arrival to make sure someone is here to meet you and if you have any special requirements to add.

Number 306, is on the edge of the main tourist center, 4 blocks from the 'Malecon' seafront where there is direct access to the water via the beach and to the local swimming area, 'El Coromuel' a beautiful 2km walk to the south, in the direction of some of the more picturesque beaches of the area such as Balandra, 18 miles away.
The local grocery store, 'Aramburo' is about 8 blocks away as are the main good food restaurants and coffee shops, where you will find anything from Bagels to Mezcal. Every Tuesday and Saturday throughout most of the year on Madero Street there is an organic market with deliciously fresh produce from local sellers.
The central cathedral square is about a 15 minute walk where you will also find a selection of artisanal beer houses and the best ribs in town.
On the Malecon you will also find the 'pangueros', skippers and tour operators and their boats waiting to take people out on day trips to the Island Espiritu Santo and to swim with the whalesharks.
I would recommend however, to contact a fellow conservationist and his non-profit organisation for that trip as he works with a whaleshark scientist and researcher and they will give you the most informative, most carefully trained access and experience of these amazing creatures.
Please ask me and I can help arrange your trip for you.

I am an oudoor enthusiast, trail run, hike swim, kayak and sail...anything to be immersed out there. I travelled extensively and adventured a lot in remote locations, love the quiet of wilderness, animals and love feeling part of that. I freedive because it is a passion that keeps me close to those sensations whilst still being at home. I love all kinds of weird and wonderful animals, adore the ones I have at home, and am privileged to have had and still have opportunities to share the energy of big wild sea animals of the sea always with the curiousity for the quieter ways we can sense them in their environments. I am overtly pro nature, and environmental conservation, and in the work I do create projects to help educate to conserve and protect the world around us. I'm fascinated by psychology, culture, language and communication. I practised martial arts for years but instructed yoga for the most part over the last 20years, and try to implement facets of both philosophies into the way I live. My home expresses all of this and I welcome anyone who is of the same spirit. Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) Rumi~

During your stay
This Painted Space is a cluster of personalities look forward to welcoming you. We look forward enjoying the prospect of sharing something of that independence and interdependence with those of you who chose to share with us.
However, I am a totally informal host but welcome you to feel at home with what I can share if I am in la Paz at the time of your visit or not working out at sea in which case my days are long and tiring and I might prefer my own rest time.
Whenever I can with some reservations due to my owm work schedule I will be only too happy to help you feel comfortable in the house and around the town and can offer recommendations of authentic traditional and non-traditional cuisine, bohemian places to drink and listen to music, and even a local exclusive 'mezcaleria' to sweeten your taste of Mexico.

If I am not in town then I usually will have a couple of friends who alternate taking care of the house and animals for me but generally will not be available for problem solving. Their time is more to help orient you and get you on your feet in la Paz.

If you enjoy a world-informed, independent lifestyle and are tolerant of us all, and connect with nature and the sea with a passion, then we’ll find comfortable way to connect.

WELCOME!
