The space
The cottage is 850 Sq Ft, has a full bedroom, an additional loft space, a kitchen, and a full bathroom. Bring proper clothing so you can take hikes and check out the 50 acres.

Trout streams, cheese factories, breweries and lots of history around us. Lots of peace here. When my garden is full of delicious goodies, i share. Feel free to use our coolers, towels, area maps, binoculars, folding chairs, plant, cloud, and bird books...ask if you are in need of something. Give us a heads up let me know what your looking for. We have some rare birds here and an abundance of wildflowers and wild life. Most night we hear coyotes or owls in the distance and see the bats dance in the nights sky. No mosquitos here...TRUE. The fireflies start their show at dusk in June. Southwestern Wisconsin is abundant with beauty.

There are restaurants that offer the traditional friday fish fries in Blanchardville and New Glarus as well as other towns around us.
New Glarus offers history, shops, cheese, festivals, and the brewery. Monroe is nearby as well, offering Saturday Farmers Market, shopping on the square, and one of the olders brewerys in WI. Plenty of parks in this area: New Glarus woods, Yellowstone lake, Blue Mounds, and lovely trout streams too. Mineral Point, an old silver mining town, is a short drive away,

Guest access
50 acres of beautiful land, trout stream ...your own park! Oh and the internet.
The internet signal is not strong at all times. If it is weak you can step closer to the house to pick up the connection and this typically gets you better connected.
The farm Pigs are always a main attraction.

Other things to note
There is no AC, the valley typically cools nicely.
There is spotty internet, if u have to connect u can do so by stepping closer to our home/router.
Workshops upon availability, we take requests too:
Workshops need to be planned, give me a heads up to see about availability.
Spring invasivore pesto workshop.
summer canning.
rootbeer making.
and krauting at its best.
Guided tour with medicinal and native plant identification.

A food, and nature lover. I am an organic veggie farmer that is slowly moving into the animal world of farming. Food and health are on the top of my list. I believe food has the power to heal and connect us. You are what you eat; what did you have for breakfast? My partner is a prairie restorationist, passionately pouring energy into balancing the natural world. He combats invasives like garlic mustard and multi flora rose and spends time planting natives seeds. When there is time to fly fish the magical streams that are in abundance in this neck of the woods he does so. We try to live lite on this space that we live. Heating our home with renewables, eating from our garden and neighbors gardens, and raising animal with love and courage. Our "Big Screen" is the window that faces the valley full of natures offering, and the night sky that offers amazing shows. Never a rerun here. We enjoy bluegrass, blues, folk music and listen to public radio. We live a full life spending much of our time right here in our little paradise.

It depends how busy we are with farm chores and life. If guests want to know more about our place and the area and want to interact I can be really chatty. It would be best for guests to tell us what they want. Occasional weekend workshops. Let us know if you want a real farm stay experience.
