The area has a variety of shops, including the brilliant International Supermarket that has every sort of food you could want (including warm fresh bread) as does the famous Walthamstow market (the longest in Europe). Good restaurants include the Windmill (Portuguese tapas) and Urfa ( delicious Turkish food). The Chequers pub on the High Street is a trendy spot to enjoy a selection of artisan beers and food. Further up the High Street you'll find the 9 screen Empire cinema and a variety of restaurants, including; Pizza Express, Turtle Bay, Nandos and soon Grillstock and Yum Yum. When you've seen enough of all the sites in Central London, the marshes are a great spot in which to relax (the cafe in Springfield Park does a great breakfast and sits on a hill overlooking the marshes and River Lea). You can go kayaking on the River Lea on Saturday mornings at 9:30 for £10 and there's also horse riding available in the marshes and an ice rink. There are also a couple of good pubs on the river with a selection of ales and good food. There's a lovely walk along the River Lea/canal via the Olympic Park and the more adventurous can walk to the River Thames.
ArtFund Museum of the Year 2013, the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow is a must see as is the Vestry House Museum and C12 church in Walthamstow village. Free live Jazz at the Nags Head and the Bell pubs on Sundays is also a must! There are also a number of great restaurants in Walthamstow village where you can also buy the famous Eat17 bacon jam.

Staying at Olly's place was fantastic. A perfect London pad for a couple of nights. Everything was so clean, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. He'd even left bread and milk and all the basics which made us feel so welcome. We didn't want to go home!
Fantastic stay - Walthamstow with both tube and train options, which are both very easy from flat. The flat is great with two good sized bedrooms and a kitchen with everything you need - especially with a number of options for coffee! Olly is the best host I've ever had, very attentive setting the place up for us and leaving a key in a safe with code at the flat; leaving bread, milk and cereals; and responding immediately to all our messages. Thanks, we'd love to stay again and would highly recommend!
What a wonderful place to stay! The flat was clean, well kept and adorable. Blackhorse station is a short walk down the road allowing us to get around London quickly and easily. Olly is a superb host! Any questions we may have had were covered in his welcome packet. A perfect home away from home for our family of four!
This listing in Walthamstow was a complete find! I didn't get a chance to meet Olly, but he was very responsive and easy to coordinate with. Stayed for four nights and everything was great! It was a very comfortable place, and it was a nice touch that he provided teas and a fresh loaf of bread and jams in the fridge. Overall, it was a really great stay and convenient getting around London, as the Blackhorse Road tube station was only an 6-8 minute walk giving you direct access to the Victoria line/Central London. Everything went as planned. A big thank you to Olly for making it easy.
Ollys place was great and as described. We had a pleasant stay with no issues at all.
Olly was the perfect host - very quick and easy responses. Unlike hotels I really appreciated the human touch and after a long trip I was very grateful for the fresh coffee and home made jams. The flat is really stylish yet homely and I loved all the little touches, like chocolates on the bedside and shower products! The area is very quiet - a great sanctuary from Central London. The International Supermarket and various shops on the doorstep supplied everything you could want for a stay. The flat is a few minutes walk to the local tube station and very quick and direct into Central London and just a couple of minutes walk to St James Street for my meeting in the City - perfect! Honestly one of the best places I've stayed (and I travel a lot internationally!) Hope to be back soon!
Olly was an amazing host - super helpful and attentive, went above and beyond. He has excellent taste too, the apartment is so cosy yet stylish.
