R&R
The area has a variety of shops, including the brilliant International Supermarket that has every sort of food you could want (including warm fresh bread) as does the famous Walthamstow market (the longest in Europe). Good restaurants include the Windmill (Portuguese tapas) and Urfa ( delicious Turkish food). The Chequers pub on the High Street is a trendy spot to enjoy a selection of artisan beers and food. Further up the High Street you'll find the 9 screen Empire cinema and a variety of restaurants, including; Pizza Express, Turtle Bay, Nandos and soon Grillstock and Yum Yum. When you've seen enough of all the sites in Central London, the marshes are a great spot in which to relax (the cafe in Springfield Park does a great breakfast and sits on a hill overlooking the marshes and River Lea). You can go kayaking on the River Lea on Saturday mornings at 9:30 for £10 and there's also horse riding available in the marshes and an ice rink. There are also a couple of good pubs on the river with a selection of ales and good food. There's a lovely walk along the River Lea/canal via the Olympic Park and the more adventurous can walk to the River Thames.

ArtFund Museum of the Year 2013, the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow is a must see as is the Vestry House Museum and C12 church in Walthamstow village. Free live Jazz at the Nags Head and the Bell pubs on Sundays is also a must! There are also a number of great restaurants in Walthamstow village where you can also buy the famous Eat17 bacon jam.

Perfect place for 2 couples. Clean, comfy beds with duvets. Kitchen with cool fridge and granite countertops. Olly was very thoughtful, helpful and available. An easy 10 minute walk to the tube! Quiet and charming neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay at Ollie's was excellent, beautiful and conveniently located apartment. Everything we needed and more, he was easy to contact and provided many finishing touches that went above our expectations. The apartment was very clean and tidy, and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

The apartment was fashionably furnished and very clean. The area isn't the best, its right next to Walthamstow, so it's not central, however there are good transport links nearby. The host was great and was attentive and very welcoming. Overall it was a good experience and for anyone looking to spend a few days in London, its a good base to do that from.

Response from Olly:
Really pleased you had a good stay and thanks for the feedback on the location. The flat is right in the centre of Walthamstow and having lived all over London I have to say it's one of my favourite parts - 18 minutes direct to central London on the tube and 13 minutes to the city and then the marshes and Epping Forest nearby. It's a lovely friendly community and fast becoming one of the fashionable, creative areas of London.

We had a wonderful stay in Olly's flat which was exactly as pictured. Olly was always available, answered our questions within minutes, & thought of everything. It was wonderful to arrive to fresh bread, milk, cereals, coffee & jams. Even a tomato & garlic bullb!!! Beds were comfortable & Apt. was spotless. More like a 10 minute walk to the Tube Station but then only took about 20 minutes to downtown London, depending on where we went. The area of Walthamstow is quite diversified & there's lots of shops & the Market which runs Tuesday to Saturday is well worth visiting. Olly is a delightful Host .

We were lucky in that when we arrived we were able to meet Olly. He was welcoming and helpful during our stay. The flat was great for our family. We felt like we got to see a more diverse part of London staying farther away from the core of the city. The neighbourhood was safe and quiet at night.
