We have been in Watamu II with our family (four adults) for one week. Watamu II has three big rooms, one is reachable over staircases. The windows was well guarded with nets agains the moskitos and so it was no problem to have the windows open all the time. Caterina was very helpfull and attainable. She gave us the number of a taxidriver how pick us up from the airport. Kingy (the good soul of the house) cook for us very tastfull, nearly every day and he manged the dish washing as well. He also cleaned the house very thoroughly every day. Shops are very good reachabel in a walking distance. Many possibilities for excursions in the neighbourhood. We loved very much the board walk (Meda Creek ) -3 km souht of the Arabuko Sokoke forest. All in all a very pleasant stay.

My family and I just spent 6 days here, in beautiful Watamu. Caterina was very helpful in all our planning and organized a taxi driver meeting us at Malindi airport. It's about a 20 minute drive. Caterina's home is a separated house right next to the Sun Palm Beach Resort, to get to the house you enter the resort's main gate which has very friendly 24 hr security guards. The house has two apartments, a ground floor and a first floor apartment. Our family stayed in the upper apartment. I would describe the home as simple, clean and comfortable. The online pictures and description of the home are accurate. The beach is only 100 meters away, and is beautiful. The ocean is very shallow for the first 200-300 meters, making it great for families with children. On arrival we met Kinghi, who is the local manager/caretaker of the home. Kinghi is so helpful and fun to be around. He's a great resource for organizing and planning anything locally. He's also a very good chef! The center of Watamu, restaurants, ATMs, bakery and small supermarkets are all within 15 mins. walking distance from the house. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved our time in Watamu and absolutely loved staying at Caterina'a homely apartment. Within walking distance to Watamu along the beach, and Khingi was kind and helpful. Thank you for having us!

We have stayed in Watamu II for 4 nights with our two children aged 5 and 8. We stayed in the upper part of the house with a private entrance. Our children slept in the large room upstairs. Caterina was very helpfull and gave us the number of Kingy: the caretaker of the house. He aranged a driver for us and someone who took us on a snorkeling trip. We went to the Gedi ruins and the snake farm by tuk tuk. Our kids enjoyed the snake farm best! We had Kingy cook for us every night for a very reasonable price. His chapati's and samosa's are the best we ever had! And he will cook almost anything you ask for. Kingi made our stay realy memorable. He also cleaned the house very thoroughly every day. We payed the hotel next door for use of the pool, which was quite expensive (500ksh per adult and 250 per kid), but worth it, in our estimation. It is possible to get a better rate if you stay longer. The beach is very pretty, but the sea is to shallow to really swim. You can walk to a supermarket in the village to buy groceries. It is about a 10 minute walk. The apartment has no wifi and no air conditioning. But there are many cafe's and restaurants in the village that do. The laundry service of Kingi was great. The apartment is about ten years old so dont expect anything brand new. It has warm water and a kitchen with all the basics. And if anything is missing you can always ask Kingi. All in all a very pleasant stay and highly recommended.

La prima volta che sono stata in Africa avevo 15 anni. Io e mio padre ci siamo innamorati di quella splendida terra rossa dove la gente sorride sempre. E' proprio qui che ritorno appena posso spinta da un leggero e costante Mal d'Africa..
