Complicated stay here, but I'll start with the normal review. Like others have said, the room is quite small, but it has everything you need and is a nice, quaint space. The bed is quite squeaky but very comfortable, and the TV at the end of the bed is massive and great for watching movies at the end of the day. There is, unfortunately, a poorly sealed door out onto a balcony that you cannot access, but it lets in quite a bit of noise at night from the busy road nearby. Also, this Airbnb does not provide shampoo/conditioner/body wash, so be prepared to bring/buy your own--I don't mention this as a negative, but rather as something to be aware of, as this is the first stay I've had where these were not provided, and the hosts do let you know in advance after you've booked as well :) The location is great--it's not too far out of downtown, but the best part is that it's near so many cafes and restaurants, which was fun to explore. Now for the complications--I am including this in my review because I think it's relevant, though it was caused by extraneous circumstances. My boyfriend and I arrived to the room at 18:00--2 hours past check-in--to a filthy room that had not been turned over since the last occupants. It was quite gross, and unfortunate because I didn't feel comfortable sitting down in the bed despite a long day of travel. However, we were able to get in contact with the hosts quickly, and they explained the cause of this (a typo in the schedule) and sent the cleaners over. They also refunded us the cleaning fee. Nonetheless, when my boyfriend and I returned from dinner at 20:15, the cleaners were not yet done, so we stood and waited out in the hallway. At 20:30, the cleaners told us that everything was cleaned, but that there was no spare duvet cover or pillowcases, so the ones for us to use were still in the wash. I told them that we would put them in the dryer so that thy could go home, as I hated that they had to work so late on our accord. Cut to 22:00--the duvet cover and pillowcases are still not dry, my boyfriend and I are forced to sleep in an unsanitary bed on account of the naked duvet/pillows, we are tired from a day of travel and have just had to do chores, despite wanting to fall asleep 2 hours ago, and lie in bed all evening and eat in the room, which we couldn't do because the cleaners had to come. While we did receive the cleaning fee refund, the reality is that we still payed the full ~$52 for a night in a room we weren't allowed to use as we pleased, for an unmade, unsanitary bed, and for housekeeping chores you expect to be done for you. I understand that errors occur and cannot always...

As described, it is a small space but everything you need for a short stay. Enjoyed the self check-in, very clean. Unfortunately the bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable.

Close to the metro and great restos. A little noisy and little air circulation.

The space is as described. It is very small but efficient and had everything I needed, including a fan which made the unairconditioned space much more comfortable. The host allowed me to drop my bags off two hours early which I greatly appreciated. When I arrived at the scheduled check-in time, the apartment had not been completely cleaned and readied - sheets were off the bed, etc. I notified the host and he said he would have it taken care of so, knowing the cleaning service would be coming, I left my locked bag in the corner. When I returned about an hour and a half later the apartment was cleaned and ready. I unpacked my bags and went out for dinner. When I returned a few hours later I entered to find the dryer running. So someone (the cleaning service I was informed when I asked) was in the apartment again without my knowledge. In my experience with airbnb (I've stayed in about six places around the world) I've never had someone enter the apartment without my knowledge and after I had unpacked. I was not comfortable with this at all. The host informed me that he trusts the cleaning service but of course trust is earned.
