Tucked down a quiet side street yet only a 10-minute walk from the riverside, night market, cafés, bars, and the famous Old Market, this is downtown Kampot living at its best – peaceful yet perfectly central.
All proceeds from your stay directly support the Banteay Srey Project (empowering women in rural Cambodia).
The space
Recently renovated with love, the house blends original wooden floors, high ceilings, and authentic Khmer details with modern comfort. Think lazy afternoons in a hammock, cool breezes from seven large ceiling fans, and sunset drinks on the balcony overlooking the street life below.
The house is the private home of the Banteay Srey Project’s founder, Freya, who warmly welcomes you while she’s caring for family in Canada.

• Huge light-filled living room with big L shaped sofa and plenty of space to spread out
• Fully equipped kitchen (gas stove, fridge, coffee press, basic cooking essentials)
• Upstairs master bedroom with queen bed + air-conditioning
• Downstairs bedroom with double bed + ceiling fan
• Colonial Tiled bathroom with rainfall shower (traditional Khmer style – refreshing cool water only, no hot water)
• Breezy sunset balcony, ground-floor streetside patio, and small rear courtyard
• Dedicated workspace / office with desk
• Wi-Fi

15 years ago I came to Kampot and founded the Banteay Srey Project to support Khmer women. Living here, speaking Khmer, and learning from local families has been the joy of my life.
When I’m in Canada with family, I love sharing my restored old shophouse with travelers. It’s quiet, private, full of character, and a quick walk from the river.
