Relax in comfort and simplicity with old fashioned quality and modern convenience. House is freshly painted and the windows open freely to catch the fresh sea air. Enjoy the view from the big deck out front, surrounded by expansive grassy lawns and bush. The beach is safe and perfect for watersports, walks and fishing. Tapu is a charming coastal village with two shops and pub. Plenty of boat parking and minutes to all tide boat ramps. Or just enjoy the sunset on the deck.

The space
Tapu is ideally situated on the Coromandel Peninsula. Right on the iconic Thames Coast which is great for fishing, walking, kayaking and swimming and close to the west coast surf beaches and bush. We are right across from the sea in the charming coastal town of Tapu with a shop and takeaways, petrol pumps and pub/restaurant. We are located just 20 minutes drive to Thames which provides all services and amenities. An all tide boat ramp is a few ks up the road. The bach has had ongoing renovations while keeping its period charm. All household water is treated with a well maintained UV water filtration system, there has also been a wood-burner fire installed for cooler weather.
As soon as you walk in you will feel like you are on holiday.

Guest access
You will have the whole house to yourself. Big lawns on all sides for cricket, petanque or parking the boat. The house is open plan with a big front deck. You walk in the door and immediately feel like you are on holiday. Decor and furnishing are relaxed and comfortable. Quality linen on the beds, a nice hot shower, fully functioning kitchen, big dining room table and views from all the windows. Access to a stocked pantry and full range of crockery, cutlery and utensils, including a BBQ. The house and deck was freshly painted in 2018 which included renovating all the windows so they all open freely to let in the fresh breezes. New venetian blinds. Lots of care taken by the owner to ensure your have a great holiday experience.

Other things to note
The bach has been in our family for three generations. This is the first time we have opened it up. We have installed a filtration system so the drinking water is pure and safe, the plumbing has been upgraded and we have made sure the house is immaculate, beds are fresh, clean and comfy and everything is in full working order. The house was fully insulated in 2017 and a wood-burning stove was installed. Other recent renovations include a new roof, painting the outside, replacing windows and lifting carpet to polish the hardwood floors.
For people coming with very young children, we do want to note that when there is heavy rain, there is a stream that runs in the bush at the back of the property.

I was born and bred in Waiuku (South Auckland). We traveled the coast and ended up buying our dream home here in Kereta, right on the water. There is beautiful fishing here on my doorstep. If you catch a fish I will happily cook it up for you :-) We are never far from our bar, which is our favourite spot to enjoy the beautiful view with a cold beer.
