Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Price includes a hire car (a must for Norfolk) and NBN Broadband connection. You’ll love my place because of the peace and tranquility, room to spread out and nearly 1 acre of flat lawns. Set in a beautiful part of the island and close to the coast, it is 2 minutes to beautiful Emily Bay for a swim, snorkel or lay on the sand. Philly's Place is good for couples, singles, and families (with kids).

The space
The house is simple in layout with a large living/dining/kitchen room , 2 bedrooms are off this main room and the laundry and bathroom just past the kitchen. We have just had the flooring replaced with lovely Norfolk Pine. It looks lovely and we ask you to not wear shoes in the house to keep it in beautiful condition. There is also a new kitchen just installed.
The covered deck is nearly as large as the house and is the place we spend the most time. It lets you soak up the serene and beautiful Norfolk feel. There is a BBQ that allow's you to cook outside and a very comfortable outdoor dining setting.

Where you’ll be

Kingston, Norfolk Island

Philly's place is situated on Driver Christian Road, one of the original roads that led from the first settlement (Norfolk Island was settled 6 weeks after Botany Bay, NSW) and borders the Kingston and Arthurs Vale World Heritage Area containing famous landmarks such as Bloody Bridge, Emily Bay, the Convict Cemetery, former Jail and Quality Row, which is lined with Georgian inspired buildings (imagine Port Arthur on steroids!). The main commercial township (Burnt Pine) is a 2 minute drive in the supplied Hire Car and there are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and retail shops to keep you busy for days. The whole island is dotted with points of interest and the history is amazing. There are loads of tours on offer, including nightime them shows and progressive dinners. The Norfolk Islanders originated from the small islands of Pitcairn and can trace their heritage back to Fletcher Christian and his crew, who famously mutineed on the British vessel the Bounty and set Captain Bligh adrift to sail and row his way to Indonesia. The island was discovered by Captain Cook in the late 1700's as he sailed West to take possession of Australia for the British Crown. It was used as a Penal Settlement twice, for incorrigible prisoners that were originally sent to New South Wales or Tasmania for their crimes in the UK. You will never cease to be amazed at the history, the people, the local language and the feeling of peace and tranquillity that Norfolk Island affords all its visitors!
