My place is close to the Tongariro National park, Mt Ruapehu and in the center of the north island! You’ll love my place because its a newly refurbished art full space close to basic amenities. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

The space

This studio apartment was the old bakery in Raetihi but now has a loft bedroom above a kitchen /dining/ lounge area. The kichen has gas hob and electric oven and everything you would need to prepare a meal. It has a lovely bathroom with a shower over a bath and there is a laundry in a cupboard for you to use. A door and wall separates you from another guest accommodation which is attached to the Barbed Wire Gallery an art gallery featuring local artists.

Guest access

You have the space to yourself but share a courtyard and car parks with other guests.

Interaction with guests

Most days I will be in the gallery so drop in and say Hi. I will give you my phone number if you need help with anything. I live half an hour s drive away.

Other things to note

Other guests in attached accommodation.
A siren sounds in our town every morning at 8am.

Lovely stay with all the trimmings, Leonie had breakfasts available and even some toiletries which was great as we forgot shampoo :) Right in the centre of the town and a picturesque drive to Oakune with easy access to the mount. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Very tidy studio for up to 3 people. Breakfast was supplied. The studio featured a modern kitchen and bathroom. The Wi-Fi was a bit of a problem but we found the best signal strength (1 bar) was found at the end of the bar furthest from the external door.

A nice place to stay close to Ohakune. Note in winter there's only one column heater.

An excellent place to spend the weekend (or longer!) The apartment is well appointed, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Leonie was a fantastic host from start to finish and made sure our stay ran smoothly. We would definitely recommend a stay if you're in Raetihi.

Leonie User ProfileLeonie is a superhost.

I love living in the country where I have access to the wonderful wilderness areas of the central North Island. I have an art gallery called The Barbed Wire Gallery where I showcase local art including my own. I am a passionate photographer and I photograph the people, the birds and the landscape of our region.
I live on a farm and with my children left home now I have many grandchildren to indulge. I love art, music, the outdoors, small towns, wild horses and life.
