We try our best to create a home for travelers and this is perfect for business travelers, couples, small families, LGBTQ friendly, solo travelers. We are very country and have visitors of the animal-type that visit. ie: a wild turkey we rescued named Gertrude and she brings an entourage of chickens and roosters. Miniature donkeys live next door.
We have cats and dogs in other areas of the building but not in the apartment.

The space
Full kitchen with all the appliances and cookware including a Keurig and Bullet. Eating area, library, large screen TV with Direct TV. Wifi. Outside swing and chairs to enjoy nature. Plenty of hot water for showers. Game cabinet with board games, cards, magazines. Front closet has a lego bin and other toy bins and a croquet set.
Breakfast items provided and condiments to cook with. Cereal, oatmeal, bagels, cream cheese, butter, bread, english muffins, jellies, brown sugar, milk, creamer, orange juice, water for side trips, coffee, tea, frozen waffles.
All linens and towels are provided. Laundry area if needed.
6 acres of country with seating areas in the backyard and an above ground pool with umbrella table and chairs.
Small area for bonfires. If you want a grill, just ask.
The back yard is pretty enclosed so even staking out horses is safe.

Where you’ll be

Whitney Point, New York, United States

We are very rural and don't see the neighbors often if at all and yet only 3 1/2 miles to town for groceries, gas, library, dining choices, Dollar General, and hardware stores.
Restaurants are the Country diner (best strawberry shortcake ever), Aiello's Italian, Sparky's, Lucky Kitchen (chinese), Dominic's (pizza, subs, wings). Fast food are McDonald's, Arby's, Dunkin' Donuts.
We have Dorchester, a lovely park down the road that has swimming, boating, kayaking, and walking. Trails are kept plowed for winter walking, too. Oh, and fishing. Crappy Derby in the winter. In February this year. Broome County Fair is the end of July. Greek Peak for skiing is 13 miles away but takes 25 minutes because of the rural roads. They also have an indoor water park.
Animal Adventure is 27 miles away. Watkins Glen, Ithaca, Syracuse, and Binghamton are easily accessible. Marathon is the next town up noted for the Maple Festival and some great antique shops and the historic Three Bear Inn.
Strawberry and blueberry picking not far.
Finger Lakes wineries.
Carousel Circuit of 5 throughout Endicott, Johnson City, and Binghamton and all are free! If you go to them all, you get a commemorative pin. My service dog, Angie, has hers!

We've been married for 39 years. Have 7 children, 9 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters! Now our household has just 2 of us so we've created the perfect get-away for others to enjoy. We love to travel and like to be comfortable so, with that in mind, we give you a comfortable home-away-from-home to use. We enjoy learning about other people's experiences and have very interesting ones to share. Scenarios: What to do when you don't get back to the cruise ship in time? What is my secret to maneuvering in NYC? What is the best tip for traveling in China? My motto: Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. My husband's motto: Follow wife's advice.
