My place is close to the Mississippi Delta & the Blues Trail. You’ll love my place because of the history, ambiance, and peace & quiet. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).

The space

Welcome to Belmont Plantation, Est 1857 in the heart of the Mississippi Delta! The mansion consists of 9000 sq ft, 8 bedrooms, and 7 baths- we offer each room for rent individually. A stay includes your own private bedroom and bath as well as full access to the plantation's public rooms and grounds. You can sit and relax in the Lady's or Gentlemen's Parlors, enjoy the breeze on one of our huge screened porches, have a meal in our grand dining room, or cozy up with a good book in our second floor lounge. Belmont is decorated in the finest period antiques and some rooms are still undergoing restoration work, which you are welcome to peek in on (like the library and the music room)! Onsite, you will be hosted by Miss Camille Collins and given an historic tour by our knowledgeable Miss Sandra Stillman- both of whom are cousins of Belmont's current owner. They can suggest local sights and activities, help you with dinner plans, or allow you to enjoy the peace and quiet Belmont has to offer.

The mansion is heated and cooled with a geothermal system that keeps it perfectly comfortable year round. Our suites have exquisite antique furnishings, soft linens, and brand new bathrooms with complimentary soap & shampoo. You will also be provided with bottled water, fresh towels, turn down service, and wifi, but there is no television on the property as we encourage our guests to enjoy the experience of our historic venue.

This particular suite, the Matriarch's Suite, is named after the grand dame in the oil portrait over the fireplace. We picture her as the classic Southern matriarch, who over sees the mansion down to every last detail. The room is in southern center of the house upstairs and has lovely views of the side yard, as well as great natural light. It is located just off the upstairs lounge and nearby both the front and back porches, it also has a door that opens directly onto the back porch. There is a walk-in closet that can be private or can be shared with the adjacent room; the Captain's Suite. The circa 1850 Plantation bed in this room is an Olympic Queen size, which is a bit bigger than a modern-day queen.

Couldn't have been smoother. This is an incredible house with deep history but is also very comfortable with just the right amount of modern touches. I will be back.

What a gem! Beautiful home with lots of history in a perfectly southern setting. Sandra greeted us warmly and showed us around. Our accommodations were superb! After a great night's sleep we had the most wonderful breakfast too! Highly recommend this lovely place.
