The Aurora Lodge is a 2200 square foot houseboat located on Vee Lake, a 20 minute drive outside of Yellowknife.
The lodge has two rooms, each with a queen size bed and a personal heater. The living area includes the kitchen, bar and lounge area with a wood burning fireplace. There is also a front and back deck perfect for aurora viewing.

NOTE: No showers in the winter months. We use city facilities to shower. We have indoor dog.

NOTE: We have indoor dog.
Guest access
Guests have access to entire main floor which includes bedrooms, kitchen, bar, and lounge area where Fireplace is located.
Guests also have access to the front and back deck to watch the Aurora.
We have countless hiking trails and lakes to paddle, swim or fish from.
In WINTER the same areas are used to snowmobile, hike, snowshoe or Cross country ski, or kite ski.
During your stay
As much or as it little as you desire.

We have indoor dog that lives at the lodge who loves people.
WANT TO SEE AURORA??
Many people pay 90-$145 for only a few hours to see the northern lights with other tour operators.
Guests who stay with us have all the time and opportunity to see Aurora.
From the time the sun goes down at 5-7pm till it comes back up 8am at no extra cost to them giving them UNLIMITED chance to see Aurora !

You will NOT be HERDED like cows like other operators do.
It is perfectly located in the serenity of our private lake surrounded by nature and all it has to offer.

Pets: Sadly Dora our dog of 13.5 years passed.
My wife and I are nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who have been off the grid as Houseboaters for 16years.
We love paddling canoes, kayaks, motor boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, nature photography and just being on the land and lakes.
In winter, you'll find us out snow shoeing, cross country skiing, kite skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling.
