We loved our stay at Mohamed's place in Skoura. He welcomed us warmly and spent over one hour giving us a tour of his family's enchanting palmerie - explaining the large array of foods they grow right there on the land. The dates, olive oil, rose syrup all later showed up on our dinner table. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We were 12 people (6 adults and 6 kids) staying at Mohamed and Ghizlane and had a wonderful time. The house dreamy, in the middle of the palm grove. Mohamed was the most exquisite host ever: he took us to amazing places such as a stream among palm trees for swimming, a kasbah to visit — a donkey cart ride that the kids adored, and a pottery place where our kids could experience making pottery and tangine dishes. He came with us everywhere and gave us valuable explanations and fun stories about all the places we saw. Our son had his 6th birthday at their house and Mohamed and his wife made a cake and sang happy birthday in berber! A truly unforgettable experience! When we left we felt like leaving a lovely family member and we can’t wait to go back! After a week long trip in Morocco, visiting Marrakesh, Ourrzazate and Skoura, without a doubt, the best part was meeting Mohamed, Ghizlane and their wonderful children.

This was easily one of my favorite places in all of Morocco. I only booked one night through Airbnb but elected to stay another night minutes after arriving. Mohamed is so welcoming, picked me up at the taxi stop and brought tea and dates on my arrival. Like many of the lower-priced properties in Morocco, this place operates as a regular guesthouse rather than a more traditional house. But Mohamed and his family really do live there, and always have, they simply renovated it for guest rooms. There is an on-site organic garden, where the dates come from as well as the delicious goat cheese. The included breakfast is one of the best I had on the trip, with bread, baghir (pancakes) or msemman (griddle bread) and homemade apricot jam, honey, and unlimited delicious dates from the garden, plus Mohamed is willing to throw in that goat cheese :). Dinner is not included but absolutely worth getting--it's delicious and homey, served family-style with the other guests. The rooms are simple, but fine, and Mohamed does his best to keep you warm in the winter with in-room heaters (not strong) and loads of blankets. But the real treasure is Mohamed himself. It is not clear from the profile but he does speak English! He is so devoted to sharing Skoura with people and will drive you around to sites for free, and give great advice on how to take walks in the palmery. He is full of stories and information, and knows many secret scenic areas that he wants to share with guests. He also has the sweetest, friendliest family! It's a good base for visiting Ait Ben Haddou as well, so you don't have to stay in Ouarzazate. I really adored my stay and would seriously recommend coming to Skoura just to stay with Mohamed!

The Kasbah is a mervelous place right in the fantastic oasis of Skoura. Mohamed and his family are extremely kind hosts and great cooks. They are generous and very knowledgeable and will tell you everything you want to know. The hotel is simple and pleasant, very fitting to its surroundings. We will come again next time in Morocco.
