Central London - Bermondsey/Tower Bridge
Bright little room, inspired by hip pod-style living, ideal for groovy urban travellers on the go. 11-minute tube to Oxford Street. 2-min walk to Bermondsey tube station. Gay-friendly. See RESERVATIONS note below.
Central convenient snug place to lay your head after your day and night of doing London. Night-buses stop right outside. 2-minute walk to Thames and stunning views of London's world-famous skyline. Probably the smallest room you've ever slept in.
When you make your reservation, let me know your flight details (arrival time, flight number, airport), so I can work out your arrival time at mine, as I am not always in. Check-in is usually evening but depends. Check-out is 10am, so I can prepare the room for guests arriving that day.
Large raised sleeping platform with step up and handrail, super-comfy mattress, tasteful decor, under-bed storage and hanging rail. Lovingly fitted out and painstakingly decorated with a classy hand-painted feature wall of deep red and luxurious gold damask.
Bedding (duvet, pillows, bed linen), towels, hairdryer, make-up remover & cotton wool, travel adapter plug, hangers, alarm clock, folding umbrellas, sunglasses, first-aid kit, sewing kit, A-Z London map and other maps, bottled water (can be refilled from bathroom sink).
I have discovered over time that mostly my guests don't want breakfast, preferring to head straight out. There are cafes and shops nearby. If you do want breakfast (it's free), just let me know when you make your reservation so I can buy extra stuff in. I provide tea, coffee, muesli and yogurt.
- Bathroom and living room both shared with me, no other guests.
- There are no kitchen facilities.

PRESENCE OF HOST
You’ll have your own key so you can come home as late as you like. I am in and out at unpredictable hours.
If you want a cheap central room, value your independence & privacy, are on-the-go all the time and used to city-centre living (eg small rooms and traffic noise) this is perfect for you.
If you want a conventional room in a spacious apartment with television and kitchen facilities in a quiet neighbourhood with a host to fuss over you, this is not for you.
-Check-in: usually evening, depending.
-No smoking but you can smoke on the terrace, ash tray provided
-No kitchen facilities
-No pets (I have none, and none allowed)
-There is no television
citrus zest, sleeping outside next to a camp fire, weathered wood, London’s rich cultural offering, independence, tinkering, opera, personal space, cheekiness.
I don’t like…
weak coffee, people walking slowly on a narrow pavement, chewing gum, self-service check-out tills, flakiness, oysters.
5 things I can't live without:
Swiss army penknife, Post-it notes, sarcasm, real ale, hiking boots.
