Boats depart from the port of Santa Pola, all through the year, towards the island. Tabarca was declared in 1964 national historical site. The island inspired artists and attracted pirates, and it is a lovely place to spend some hours and enjoy a nice lunch at its restaurants.
Santa Pola has also a central market where you can buy daily goods and local products such as fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and meat and others. Every Saturday and Monday the village offers the possibility to stroll and shop at a big and popular market settled its streets.
